(Bill W) Get ready for some serious action at the Knoxville Raceway this year! This weekend the 2009 Knoxville Championship Cup Series kicks off with Pizza Hut/Lions Club Night! Several prominent 410 drivers are either arriving or returning to action at the Knoxville Raceway, and all intend on winning the Knoxville Championship Cup!

In addition to some great racing this weekend, check out the Draggin's Car Club Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. followed by a tour around Lake Red Rock! There will be Celebrity Autocross hosted by the Ottumwa Motorsports Car Club in the infield on Sunday, as well. See the "Other Things You Should Know" below for more on these events, and details on discounts, giveaways, Family Pack/Junior Fan Club information and more!

Throw in young lions like "The Mile High Kid" Davey Heskin, Rager Phillips, "The Professor" Josh Schneiderman, rookies like Austin McCarl and Chris Morgan, and it's going to be action-packed each and every Saturday night this season!

Matt Moro is set to defend his 360 title in that class! The Ankeny native will be challenged by last year's Owner Point Champion, Jesse "The Bulldogg" Giannetto, Brett Mather, Gregg Bakker, Johnny Anderson, Jon Agan, Bryan Dobesh, Dave Hall, Joe Beaver and more in the highly competitive division. An exciting rookie class including Missouri's Jonathan Cornell, Kansas's Jay Russell, Colorado's Ricky Montgomery and Iowa's Josh Padellford will spice things up even more!

The season opener is always a special time, and a practice session scheduled for Friday night promises to draw many of the regular competitors as well as a surprise or two! This weekend's events will also draw some surprise entries, so don't miss out!

Let's not forget about Clint Garner in the 40 car. He will be competing for the 360 championship and without a doubt will be a top contender.
