I just got done reading 2 articles from Pella and Newton saying there is a possibility the Bos Landen Golf Course will not open for 2009 due to changes in leases/ownership. The date of the last article was April 9, nothing after that and their is no Bos Landen website in operation. Can anyone in the Pella/Knoxville area comment on an updated status? By far one of my favorite courses in Iowa and a great appetizer to the Knoxville trips - I was hoping to get a round in here before the race on May 2, but may have to look elsewhere if the grass hasn't been mowed since last fall.
Thanks

Yes, it is closed until someone buys it. The City of Pella owns the ground and will take care of it.

My understanding is that a course management company has reached a lease agreement with the city and will be opening the course possibly within the next week. There has been activity on the course the last few days with maintenance personel getting things ready.

One of the nicest/toughest courses I've ever played. Played it once with a local Officer of the Law who popped the refreshments as we looked for our lost balls on the first hole, long day that was. Take It Easy....

It's a wonder they would even let you on the course with those ancient relics you play. Probably the only way you can play golf is to find lost balls, cause your to cheap to buy new ones.

The thing, it hasn't been in good shape the last few years. Last year in Aug was terrible for such a high rated golf course. I too love to play the place but not going back till they get things staightened away. Heard there was some backruptcy involved last fall. Hope they get it going.

Huh, I have a great set of Orlimars that I got through a sprint car buddy that worked for them out in CA. They are sure a lot better than my game and I don't look for lost balls, they are simply released to the wild in my opinion.

Waiting on a comment about last night's game...you seem to be unaware the playoffs have started? There's always next year for the Flyers...

I'm still furious they blew the Ranger game, HOME ICE means everything in that series and we don't have it. Heck, due to a big-time hockey pool I am cheering for teams I would have never cheered for in the past (Bruins, Canucks and even the Dead Wings, arghhhh)
I take solace in the fact the Penquins aren't going anywhere tho' and am prepared to eat some crow if they make the finals and will walk to the Nationals nekid if they win the Cup, Take It Easy.....

I know what you're doing. You're just trying to get everyone to root against the Penguins so they don't have to bear the sight of you walking into town on Highway 92 in that mode of dress! lol.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

I can tell you with great accuracy, that the course is NOT sold, and there are NO LEASE Agreements on the course. The city is mowing the place like a city park until other arrangements are made. I can tell you that it wont be open in the next couple weeks.

You know that as a die hard Pens fan, I have just saved your post to my computer for when you claim to have never said that. The flightless birdies are rolling. You better hit the gym now to get ready for your walk!
