GLR Investments 360 Sprint Car Series Race-2 Preview
WATSONVILLE, CA (4-15-09) – The GLR Investments 360 Sprint Car Series returns to the track this Friday night at Ocean Speedway. Brent Kaeding is looking to make it two wins in a row and pad his points lead over son, Bud Kaeding while Ronnie Day who led the first three laps of the opener is looking to recover from the mechanical woes that resulted in an 11th place finish after the front wing spuds folded.
Sitting third in the standings, Cowboy Craig Smith is looking to gain some ground on the Kaedings with his Taco Bravo Haver Engines Maxim. Following the main event, Cowboy was very impressed with the ride as was the team with his performance, "This has to be one of the best cars I have ever driven. My old J&J is parked!"
Tommy Tarlton is also expected to be hard on the hammer as his 19th place finish, due to inadvertent contact with Cowboy in the A while contesting 4th place. Don't expect that 18th spot in the standings to last long.
Jason Statler, Evan Suggs and Brad Furr had relatively quiet top-10 runs in the main event, but rest assured, they will all be a threat to win as the season progresses. Early on in the opening round heats, Furr was stymied by traffic and went to the top side. What he found worked and he went from 8th to 4th in a flash.
Fast qualifier, Ricky Wright, will be looking to back up his stellar qualifying effort again this week, as well as improve on his heat race tactics that left him out of a transfer spot in Round One.
The GLR 360's will have wingless spec sprints, American stocks, and 4-bangers as support events.
The weather is forecast is projecting a high of 70 and a low of 47, be sure to bring a jacket!
Front gate opens at 4:30pm, with the action beginning at 6pm.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $9 for kids 6-12. See www.oceanspeedway.com for more details.

Disclaimer:
buzz rightrear is not an official spokes person for ocean speedway. as a matter of fact ocean speedway could probly care less what buzz has to say. the opinions expressed by buzz rightrear are solely those of buzz rightrear. if you disagree, buzz could not give a rats ass. so there!

Hey Stu, were you even at the races? Statler ran 2nd in the main event, I don't consider that a "quiet top ten run". You need to report all the action at the track, not just what happens to your favorite drivers...

Yes, I was there.
I should have said solid, as opposed to quiet. But, except for the cautions, it was a pretty strung out top 3. BK's margin of victory was .920 over Jason and Bud was 1.520 seconds back.
I was not picking favorites. AND, as a matter of fact, I went looking for one of the Key shirts with Jasons car on it (in an XL) and got skunked. If I was gonna play favorites, I would have diffenately put more JASON STATLER in the story. I'll swing by after the race and introduce myself, for all the years Ive been doing this stuff, I dont think we've ever met.

now you have gone and done it. i am now waiting for the "tommy tarlton, justin sanders, keith day, matt sargent", ect reports. lets see, a report a day on how each driver did, that should only make you a couple of months behind by the third race! unless of course you miss a day or they have more drivers! lol.
to indy and beyond!!
