Dover went up in smoke on lap two while running third. Gossel exited on lap four. The track was in a heavy state and most heats saw little passing.

Alley had to work to get by Riggins to gain third. Brown followed suit. Droud led the 8-lap distance.

Boston led flag to flag.

Gullion crashed into the turn four wall after contact with Cressman in hot laps, ending his night. Wolfgang dropped out with two to go. Bickett led throughout, as Zomer and Nygaard were the prime movers.

Swenson's motor went up in smoke while running second on lap six. Lutz led the duration.

Wolfgang and Heffner contacted in turn one, with Wolfgang getting upside down. Both were done, but uninjured. Cressman ran second on lap four, when his motor went up in smoke. Bakker led until two to go, when Rosenboom found his way around. A late restart gave Clifford the chance to grab the last transfer from Richardson.

Brown led throughout, but Kennedy was never far behind. Dobesh retired with what appeared to be motor problems on lap three.

Chadd took the early lead over Boston. Back in the pack, Alley was moving forward quickly and was fifth by the third lap. By lap nine, he had caught Chadd and took the lead. Setting a scorching pace, he diced through lapped traffic on the fast surface. Brown was in pursuit, but at a bit slower pace. By lap fifteen, he was second. The 25-lapper went non-stop, and Alley won by a 1/4 of a lap over Brown, who had another 1/4 of a lap on Chadd. Alley lapped all but the top five for the $1,500 win (paid in $2 bills).
