and all the wind that passes through it.

This is ridiculous. It's one thing dealing with the daily 30 mph - and it is DAILY. but this is just BS.

Whoever named Chicago the Windy City had never been to Oklahoma......

So this got me to thinkin - every state has its own downsides of weather. But what state would be best? - that still has good dirt track racing.

Earthquakes and hurricanes are no good. So that rules out a lot right there. In the argument f cold state vs. warm state - I would choose cold. Because you can always add layers of clothing - but can only take so many off.

I am actually ok with snow/cold. So I'm gonna go out on a ledge and say Pennsylania and the upper Ohio Valley (IN, OH,). Maybe Washington state as well. Mountains are always a plus. The wind is prob the reason it is so flat in Oklahoma - the wind blew everything down (same with Kansas - even more sow ith Kansas - trees In Kansas can;t even hold up lol).

Ok so assume all of us got sick of the weather here (or whatever), and decided to move - and could move anywhere in the US - where would you go?

what does everyone else think?

Fan I hate to have to be the one tell you this, the reason for the wind here is simply because TEXAS blows and Kansas sucks. We are unfortunate enough to get caught in the middle.

Yeah, I like it here in Oklahoma, but no doubt the weather is ridiculous. At least we got a lot of variety, even in the same day sometimes. But this wind is really crazy! Bad fires tonite. Hope it's not like this tomorrow nite.

Ya the fires suck . There are alot of people that lost their homes, which is terrible. Although, stuff like this makes us the citizens of this state who we are. It makes us stronger and we understand that nothing in life is for sure. This might be a backwards state in someways but I will never leave.

Fan, your one bored dude. But I must be too for reading this post.

I'd have to say California also. Earthquakes are so few and far between. I lived there for 12 years and only felt one the entire time. I used to go to Placerville raceway and West Sacramento. I think there is a track on the east side of Sacramento now just a few miles from where I lived. West Sac is shut down I'm pretty sure. Alot of tragic wrecks there on that huge track. But your not far from Chico either and Antiach. Pavement track in Stockton also, in case you get tired of the same ole dirt. And the scenery around that state is just beautiful up there in the north. Hour to the mountains, hour to the ocean.

I don't know man, that all sounds pretty good lol.

I have a couple older friends in Fresno, they tell me about the different parts of California often. I always liked geography and things like that. It's good conversation. Chico is a track I would very much like to see. They keep tellin me to come out and I keep saying "Gold Cup"! lol. But I would also like to see Tulare, Calistoga, Placerville, and some of the non-wing stuff like Ventura and Madera, basically just as much racing as I possibly could.

Other than when I went to Lake Havasu, I have never been to California. From all I have seen and studied, everything from Northern Cali through Oregon and up into Washington, looks beautiful. At least from central to west - the far east of the latter 2 states are desert-like I think. Strange enough - I like the desert. but livin in it would be something else all together lol.

Man anything to get my mind of all the crap the weather caused at my house, as well as around the state, seemed like a good idea. Although now it does seem kind of boring, guess now would be a good time to post fantasy picks and check my opponents wink

I HATE the cold, I think south texas stays mild threw the winter time...

I still think this area has about the best climate for racing and living too. A good part of the year here is weather we could race in.But then I have only lived here and in Maine, and Maine is great, but winter is too cold and long and summer is too short and not hot enough. I will take 105 anyday over 25 with an oklahoma wind of 35mph out of the north, I hate going to work in that so i wont go watch, wont work on the racer, dont even want to race in weather like that!

If ya dont like the weather wait 5 minutes!

Chicago Isn't known as the "Windy City" because of the wind. It was named that due to the fact that between New York City and Chicago Would boast which city was better.

Just thought I'd give ya'll a history lesson.
