CANYON HONORS MANZY'S LAST DAYS...POSTPONES THIS WEEKEND'S RACING
April 6, 2009 --- The races originally scheduled for April 11, 2009 at Canyon Speedway Park are being postponed until May 2, 2009. The change in schedule is out of respect to our racers and fans that want to attend the final weekend of racing at the famed Manzanita Speedway which will be closing after their April 11th races. "We have been working on rescheduling these races since we heard about Manzy closing" said Canyon owner/promoter Doug Gabbard. "It takes a lot of time and coordination with other tracks, sanctioning bodies and our own schedule to get this done but after a couple of weeks of working things out we were able to accomplish it".
The schedule change leaves Canyon Speedway Park dark for the next two weekends until April 25th when the ASCA Sprints, IMCA Southern Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, AMMA Non-Winged Modified Midgets and Bombers are in action.
The Canyon Speedway Park staff wants to wish all the fans, competitors, officials and everyone involved with Manzanita Speedway good luck with their final weekend of racing while we all hope to be in attendance to see the final races at the historic race track.
