BK Takes GLR Investments 360 Sprint Car Series Opener

WATSONVILLE, CA (4-03-09) – On a cold and windy opening night for the GLR Investments 360 Sprint Car Series, 2-time defending champion Brent Kaeding timed in 5^th quick, ran 2^nd in his heat and then schooled the field in the curfew shortened 22 lap A Main.

On the start, Ronnie Day led from the pole with BK tucking in behind from row 2. Day led the first 3 laps before having his nose wing lay down due to broken welds. From there, BK took over the lead and never looked back crossing the line 0.920 seconds ahead of Jason Statler with Bud Kaeding, Evan Suggs and Cowboy Craig Smith rounding out the top 5.

Cowboys 5^th place finish was amazing in itself as he was sent to the rear on lap 11 and regained 11 spots in the final 11 laps. Contact while racing for position with Tommy Tarlton was the reason for the penalty.

Six cautions and two red flags in the A Main finished off the chance to go full distance as a series of preliminary event red flags put the show behind earlier in the evening.

Fast qualifier, Ricky Right won the B Main over Jason Newton, Wayne Katen and Brent Bjork.

Heat race winners were Cowboy Craig Smith, Bud Kaeding and rookie Wes Guterriez.

The GLR Investments 360 Sprint Car Series retakes the track on Friday April 17^th.
