A GRAND TO WIN EVERY WEEK in wingless sprints at MRP;
Brown’s Valley Auto Truck & RV Performance Center steps up, backs series.
Marysville- Paul Hawes announced Saturday at the driver’s meeting that Blane Myers, owner of Brown’s Valley Auto Truck & RV Performance Center has agreed to a season long sponsorship of the Wingless Warrior sprint car series at Marysville Raceway Park this season. Browns Valley Auto Truck & RV Performance Center plopped down a nice stack of cash for sponsorship of the popular, growing series. The new Browns Valley Auto Truck & RV Performance Center Wingless Warrior Sprint Car series will pay $1000 to win for the balance of the 2009 season. Coupled with the almost $1150 in Contingency Connection posted awards each week for the winner makes this the highest paying weekly wingless sprint car prize in northern California. Posted cash and Contingency Connection prizes will total some $2150 for the winner of the Browns Valley Auto Truck & RV Performance Center Wingless Warrior Sprint Car Series each week.
Myers, a long time supporter of wingless sprint car racing in northern California was frank about the fact that he and promoter Hawes have not always seen eye to eye on issues in the past at MRP. He acknowledged however in a brief conversation with this observer that he thought Hawes and MRP were headed in the right direction where competitive open wheel racing is concerned.
Apparently he was serious as promoter Hawes and Myers sealed the deal just hours before the first of 17 Browns Valley Auto Truck & RV Performance Center Wingless Warrior Sprint Car Series events rolled out for wheel-packing on Saturday night.
Last year additional prizes over and above the weekly prizes and cash were awarded at the banquet staged at the beautiful banquet facilities at the Colusa Cassino. This included additional cash awards and even complete chassis and engines for eligible weekly participants in MRP’s wingless sprint car series.
