Please read 4/14 & 4/15 updates below. Thanks.

In light of the recent success of the "2X 3X 4X Bomber" special at Cowtown Speedway, a new program is now set for the Street Stocks, Limited Modifieds and Winged 600's that is sure to keep teams and fans involved and excited all season long, called the Cowtown Challenge.

Here's the link with the whole scoop:

AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DIVISION IN THE COWTOWN CHALLENGE!

AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DIVISION IN THE COWTOWN CHALLENGE!

RaceMom83 'pounded the pavement' for the Winged 600's last night and she shook a few trees, and so far, this is what has fallen out for the Winged 600 Cowtown Challenge on Saturday night:

- $500 being added to the Challenge bonus from Skyview Funeral Home.

- $300 being added to the Challenge bonus from Excel X-Ray/Duarte Motorsports.

That means, as of Tuesday morning, the Winged 600 Cowtown Challenge now sits at $800 guaranteed!

If your group raises at least $200 more (and I hope it's about $1200 more when it's all over with), then this event will continue on the 2010 schedule with another $1000 to win night for your division!

For complete Cowtown Challenge details, please click:

www.cowtownspeedway.com/1000.html

THANKS to RaceMom83, Skyvue Funeral Home and Excel X-Ray for getting the ball officially rolling.

Now, are other 600 teams out there going to help her out to make your special night as big as it can be?

Question

100% of the sponsor money you collect will be paid out to your purse on Saturday!

I know there are some drivers that plan to bring money with them to the track Saturday to add to the Bonus fund, which is great too. We just won't know until race time how much that becomes.

And make sure to support the businesses that support auto racing! Please visit the following sponsors and send them a thank you for their support of Cowtown Speedway racing!

4/15/09: BREAKING NEWS - COWTOWN CHALLENGE JUMPS TO $1,500 MINIMUM FOR SATURDAY!

Kennedale, TX (4/15/09) DarinShort.com The Cowtown Challenge has now reached a record amount for this Saturday, eclipsing the $1,050 amount raised by the Bomber drivers, and is now at a staggering $1,500!

That means the winner of the Winged 600 feature will win a minimum of $1,150 to $2,500 Saturday night!

The following three new sponsors are responsible for the increase (please make sure to thank them):

- $300 Pro-Tech Service Company www.Pro-Tech-Service.com

- $200 City Vending www.CityVending.net

- $200 Robby Fox Drywall, 817-572-9636

Those three sponsors total $700 added to the already $800 in place provided by sponsors Skyvue Funeral Home and Excel X-Ray/Duarte Motorsports make up the $1,500 Cowtown Challenge Bonus.

This sudden surge of sponsor money also guarantees the Winged 600 Cowtown Challenge to become inked on the 2010 Cowtown Speedway schedule - congratulations and thank you to all that have made it happen!

We still anticipate this number to grow further, as many drivers plan to add money to the Bonus when they arrive at the track on Saturday night.

Here's an interesting scenario to consider:

Let's say 25 of the Winged 600 drivers put an additional $50 each into the Cowtown Challenge bonus fund when they arrive at the track Saturday night. That would equal $1,250. Added to the existing $1,500 would result in a total Cowtown Challenge of $2,750.

In other words, if a front row qualifier takes the Cowtown Challenge, starts 24th and wins, they will leave Cowtown Speedway with $3,750 in their pocket on Saturday night! (Well, they may have to stuff it into 2 pockets!)

Or, if no one takes the Cowtown Challenge (or takes it, but doesn't win), each of the top 10 finishers will split the Cowtown Challenge bonus of $2,750 by EACH taking home an additional $275! (That would make it a total of $1,275 to win the feature!)

One thing's for sure: Saturday is going to be a WILD night of racing at Cowtown Speedway; with sprint cars, all points classes running and the Winged 600 Cowtown Challenge - don't miss it!

I've been reading about this on this forum and the micro outlaws forum.

I'm confused. It states the bomber guys raised this money - but yet it is for the winged 600's???

Exactly what is racing saturday night down there? is it all double points as well?

Trying to get an accurate idea of what kind of turnout ya'll will have in the Mods, Sprints, and 600's........seems to see some GOOD sprint car racing this weekend I may have to venture outside the Sooner state. Thinkin either I-30 or Cowtown. I-30 has rain chances saturday - ya'll dont - plus Cowtown is a couple hours less drive than Lil Rock. Just wandering ballpark-style what ya'll are expecting this weekend.....

TIA

OKC-

The Bombers were offered this similar format as a test about a month ago (the track put up double purse, the Bombers in turn were supposed to bring $1,000 in sponsor money to the table), and it worked. (Thus, the comparison.)

So we decided to offer the same Challenge to the other 3 weekly point classes that usually don't get the PR and amount of specials on the schedule: winged 600's, SS and Ltd Mods.

The SS and Ltd Mod Challenges are on the schedule for later in the season, but the 600's are this Saturday.

It's a double points opener for the sprint cars, as their opener was previously rained out. We've only had ASCS so far, and that's not for track points.

Joining them will be the four other points classes (mods, ltds, ss, bomb); making a 6-division show.

Does that help sort out the show for ya? A lot going on for one night, that's for sure.

And another thing's for sure, it's not going to be just another night at the races, this Cowtown Challenge is going to be the start of something big each and every year at Cowtown.

All of the details can be found at www.CowtownSpeedway.com through links on the homepage.

Hope to see you this weekend!

Oh, and the rest of your question, if I were to guess, we will have:

20-28 ASCS type sprints (Ramey, Henderson, Lang and Geo already confirmed)

25-35 Winged 600's (plus heat winners go to a dash to determine Cowtown Challenge qualifiers), 25 lap feature paying anywhere from $1150 to $2500 to win...see website for details

Plus I would expect around 20-some cars in the mods, ltds and bombers and maybe 15 ss.

So it will be a very full show.

thanks Darin, I like speculating. It's my MO. lol.

25-35 winged 600's sounds good. I like watchign those down there. When I saw ASCS postponed I figure that could add 2-4 to the show. Probably closer to 2 (B4 and Minter). It will be a good show regardless.

doing something big down there each and every year? - how bout each and every week! lol. You and Bo got that track ROLLIN'. Ya'll are gonna make it a HARD decision on whether to stay home for SFS Winter Nationals in October - or go down there for the Triple Region Shootout.

And in relation to what was talked about a long time ago on the Cowtown forum. I hope the Sprint Bandits come down there at some point. I mean - they could run 2-3 races up in the Iowa/Nebraska area. take a night off for travel. And then run Cowtown, SFS, then Creek (in that order). and then a night off for repairs or whatnot - and then run the Lakeside Double. Cowtown is definitely the best track in Texas, and possibly the best in the region right along with SFS and I-30. that might be an understatement too.

Actually, they should switch it up a bit so the bandits could run there THIS year. If somehow they could run the Rock Rapids and I-80 race a night or 2 earlier. That could allow for the extra day of travel down there. Run Cowtown on a Tues., SFS wed, Creek on Thurs., and then Lakeside Fri. and Sat. Now thats a non-wing 410 Speedweek!!! sorry man, with the approaching gullywasher up here there is little else to do right now but ponder lol. Great things You, Bo, and Michelle doing down there at Cowtown.

Just wait until you see the '09 Cowtown Sprint Nationals weekend event flyer...we've got it done, just tying up a couple of loose ends and it will be released very soon.

Regarding the Winged 600 Cowtown Challenge Saturday night, there's really only a few things that are going to be slightly different than a normal Saturday night:

1. The heat winners (only) will advance to a 4 lap dash to line up their starting spots in the A-feature.

2. Heat winners will draw for dash lineup. 3 heats, 3 wide start. 4 heats, 2x2 start.

3. Only the pole sitter and then the outside pole sitter (if first refused by the pole sitter) will have a chance to take the Cowtown Challenge.

4. If either of them take the Cowtown Challenge they will relegate their starting position and start 24th.

5. The A-feature will be 25 laps instead of 20.

Same format for the upcoming Ltd Mods and SS for their Cowtown Challenge in Aug/Sept.

If you have any questions let me know - should be a barnburner and a lot of fun - thanks to all that are helping to bring this new concept into reality!
