MIDGETS HEAD FOR VENTURA SATURDAY; TANNER SWANSON CAPTURES 30-LAPPER AT MADERA
Garrett Hansen of Manhattan Beach, Calif. extended his lead in the USAC Western Midget Series to 88 points with a fifth-place finish in Saturday night's 30-lap race at Madera (Calif.) Speedway. He now heads for the Ventura (Calif.) Raceway dirt track for this Saturday night's racing program.
Tanner Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. Captured Saturday night's feature at Madera, leading the final seven laps in his Dallen McKenney machine to beat Scott Pierovich, fast qualifier Levi Roberts, Kody Swanson and Hansen. Daniel Bedford, Hansen and Pierovich all led the feature before Swanson gained the advantage.
Ventura has long been a hotbed of USAC Midget activity and Saturday's race will mark the 120th appearance of USAC Midgets at the seaside oval.
