WoO is extremely lucky there is no ASCS race that weekend - so that Jason Johnson and others are freed up to go run it - if not for that - there would be no need for a B Main. What support classes are running? charging 25 is good........this could be a pretty cool thing for the track/region. I hope the actual racing ends up good.........

the advertising is amusing - ya'll should put CAR OWNER: NASCAR DRIVER in much bigger font......and hand out flyers/advertise at the TMS race lol. You will absolutely fill the place

How much would could a wouldchuck chuck if a

Wow, it has been at least five years since I have seen a WOO show. However, after looking to take my 8 year old son, never seen the WOO, on an overnight nearly 6 hour car trip on a Friday. And best I can tell the tcket is $25.00 for me AND HIM, $50.00 total! Way to go WOO - so much for offering an affordable ticket to attract your next generation of fans.

The website says that sportmods are running as support class but says nothing about payout.

Does anyone know what the payout, entry fee, pitpasses, and ect... will be for the sportmods?

I have emailed and called the track and even got a return call but that person didnt have information!

Thanks in advance to all that help,

Jaydad37

That's a mistake on the website. It's supposed Open Modifieds not Limited.

Don't look for Jason Johnson to be there. Tony Bruce will be there, other than that prolly not to many ASCS drivers will make the haul. Heard Trey Robb has a 410 so he might show up, and a couple other maybes if they can find a motor...

Cowtown's having a $2000 to win Mod show on Saturday, It also pays $100 to start on a $50 entry fee. They have a USMTS race on May 2nd at Cowtown so this would make a good tune-up for it if your C-town setup needs work.

That makes it $3000 to win on $50 worth of entry fee for the 2 shows that are just 2 hours apart along I-20 and you get to check out the World of Outlaw Sprints on Friday night! Not a bad weekend to be a Mod racer in east Texas!!! Very Happy

Well just got a call, looks like Jason got some last minute help with a motor and will at both WoO races this weekend as long as he can find a top wing. Guess the WoO and the ASCS run two different types of top wings.

Racin' Cajun Jason Johnson (Eunice, Louisiana) to race with World of Outlaws Friday night at Lone Star Speedway!

From Darin Short

Greenville TX (updated 4/7/09) DarinShort.com. Just in the nick of time, Jason and The Shop Motorsports team have acquired a 410c.i. engine and plan to compete in both World of Outlaws events this weekend.

First up is the Friday, April 10 WoO race at Sam and Lisa Hafertepe's Lonestar Speedway. Located in Kilgore Texas, Lonestar is a fast, high-banked, flat out track.

The following night, they'll head down to Houston Raceway Park for the final WoO event of the weekend.

The Shop Motorsports team has been working hard to pull this all together and is excited about getting to run a couple of 410 shows so close to home.

If you happen to make it to either event, make sure to stop by and visit with them in the pit area, or online click http://www.jj41.com for the latest in The Shop Motorsports news.

The following weekend will be the April 18th Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Dirt Series national event at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, AR. For information about ASCS, please click: http://www.ASCSracing.com .

For more information about the World of Outlaws, please click http://www.worldofoutlaws.com .

Also....

Updated the gate times on the flyer above.

really dont know how a guy could use lonestar as a set up for cowtown.....complete different setups for each track. A flat 1/2 mile and a banked 1/4 mile, one is red dirt and the other dark clay.If a guy is well prepared then this venture is likely to be some fun.

Oh yea, the tracks are completely different. That's the whole point. That's what 'big' time Modified racing had become in our region though. That's what qick change rearends are all about. The big dogs can do it and I assume, one day, everyone would like to be a big dog. Modified racing when compared to Sprints and Late Models, is the average dirt tracker's best shot at it too with 360 sprints a rapidly closing 2nd I'd say. Talking about cost now....

Hit your refresh button just in case...

Just to clear up any misunderstanding:

I have no indication that either Tony Stewart nor Kasey Kahne will be at the track Friday night and we are NOT advertising that either. If I did, we would be headlining just that!!!

Legally the parentheses save me anyway but I don't want to be misleading either. You will see the CARS OWNED BY Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne. Us WoO fans already know that but I'm trying to get a bunch of Texans and Okies, Arkies and Cajuns to show up for this dirt track show that they maybe get to see once every 3 or 4 years and even though the very first WoO show was held in Texas at Devil's Bowl Speedway, that was a generation ago. By pointing out that Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne think enough of this series to own cars in it, NEW fans may think it's important too and show up. The rest of us don't need any such incentive.

Now having said all of that -- NASCAR is off for Easter but it would be way too ironic for them to show up now -- not unheard of but not likely at all either. I would assume they both have bigger fish to fry like spending Easter weekend with their families for example. Trust me, if they were part of this show, their names would be a whole lot more prominant on that flyer and no '( )' at all!

Nope, all we are advertising is a good ol'-new fashioned World of Outlaws Sprint Car race like we use to say, 'The Greatest Show on Dirt!'. Folks down here maybe get to see a SUPR Late Model show once in a while and a whole lot of Modified racing but when these WoO cars just hot lap or time trial at Lone Star Speedway, it WILL take their breath away! They'll be white-knuckling their seat themselves!!!

Also add Gary Wright to the list of non-WoO regulars running this show that already includes Jason Johnson and Tony Bruce, Jr.
