After giving it some serious thought.....
I think everyone that has a sportmod should race the NCRA Series.
The chance at a better show payout, the chance to run different tracks and against many new faces, the experience gain is unequalled, The opportunity to earn some point money at the end.
I did some figuring from last year and there were 8 races that we didnt make and couple more that we got the dreaded "DNF". My point to this is, we still finished in the Top 10 at Enid and that pays the same as winning the championship. My point being, we still managed the Top 10 and we gained some valuable experience by traveling and competing against some of the best in the class.
I believe that it would be great for everyone to travel and race and have a good time. JMO
I know our track doesnt have a point fund at the end, does anyone elses?
Please let me know....
Thanks,
Jaydad

Thank you Jaydad to your request to the limited modified drivers. Last Saturday night at Meeker they had 15 limiteds and I was informed that the winner was NCRA/IMCA legal - no 9 inch rear end. That should show that there shouldn't be that much difference at that track.
With a relatively new division and a new series in Oklahoma that sanctions the limiteds, it is in my hopes that not only will track jump on board with us but all you drivers climb on board as well. It would be neat for all of you to travel to the tracks with each other, help each other out and ban together and get the rest of the tracks on board. This is your time, help yourselves and NCRA out by getting tracks and your fellow racers on board as well.

a lot of folks talk it down, but Elk City has points funds for all classes. The sportmod payout is $750 for points champ and $250 for the runner up
I believe payout is the same for all other classes

Some of us just do it for fun, just to get in a few laps a week or so. However when I golf I alway try to go on the road at least once a month.

my point was to try and get as many sportmods together as possible, Im glad that Elk City offers something to the point champion because it is my belief that most tracks do not offer anything but a trophy and jacket.
Can you imagine the racing if the top 10 sportmods from every track in the state come together to race....it would be unbelievable!!!
Plus, the NCRA offers a payout at the end for the top 10. David, please correct me if I'm wrong....
Why not race this series? is your home track treating you better, I would say few to none.
Also, I believe the more that travel to these shows, will make the show more attactive and more tracks will want them....
Lets all do it and show our hometown tracks what we deserve.....

I agree with you. Milt and Robert made the top 10 at the end of the season and did'nt race everynight. What is there only 5 or 6 ncra races. I know Robert missed more then that and still made the top ten. I dont remember how many you guys missed but made it also.
