That was the best I've seen Lawton in at least 3 years. Hell, I might not drive by it to go race somewhere else anymore! Definately congratulations goes out to Lupi I sure hope Lanny lets him run the place all year without steping in and ruinning it like he can.

I agree the configuration seems to enhance the racing but anyone with any horse power at all seemed to not be happy with the dusty dry conditions.

If anyone would know what an "oximoron" was, you would know!

Maybe if I switched to one of those bowties that make so much more horsepower than my lowly old Ford I could get into that winners circle I've been hearin about. Huh JD

new track configuration?
how is it different? I mean - not gettin specifics like degrees but - what in the end result is different. Is it actually 2 grooves through the turn now? again I am not sure about specifics - just know there was a remarkable difference in how the track was before and after they changed it a few years ago.
If the racing on it will indeed be that much better, that will be great. I always loved that place before they messed with the track....

We should actually be giving Ford a lot of Propps (haha) - considering they seem to be doing better than the rest of the automakers. They have taken a hell of a lot less tax payer money than the rest too.......

Look at the picture's on the post from Thriller photo in the background look at how much wider the racing groove is. Or www.myspace.com/canix21n and look at the playday videos I posted. Go ahead and let the no drivin bashing begin. My foot slipped! A lot....

C A you've seen that winners circle before. Right now we have around a 500 hp 331 in and on dry slick it is a better deal than some big old fat hog Chevys. You drove my car with even a smaller 331 and didn't seem to mind, if the chassis was a better one you may have seen that winners circle in my "Lowly FORD"!

I know JD its just been a looong time. I was really just feedin them what they wanted to here, they wouldn't believe what that 406 I ran for the last 5 years made or that Brand and Jason at that time said they had never seen a dirt motor make within 40hp of it. Thats why I built my 375 cu in motor its a whole lot easier to drive and still gets the job done

On behalf of Lupi and all the staff at the Lawton Speedway and the LSRA we would like to thank all that came out for play day. We had a great tunout, we would also like to thank everybody on the positive remarks about the track. We think the changes are going to make for some great racing, all the the cars looked awesome. So if your looking for a place to race on Saturday nights come to Lawton Speedway we would love to have you, and lets have a great year of racing and most of all lets have FUN doing it. If you have any questions just stop any official in a red shirt and we will be glad to help you.
Thank You To All
