Thanks for the compliment. There were clips on SPEED Report and Wind Tunnel on SPEED Channel yesterday. I have DVDs of both nights ready to go. [email protected]

That would be when the 25c ended up on his side? I was in tight on Hockett and Malsam and I did not see your near miss. Two cars transfered out of that race. I have been out in the infield before and I would not stand that close to the track...but that is me. You were wearing a white top? We had an official nailed by a car in the middle of the infield last year. He was OK, but it was scary. There was a still photographer in turn four who was even closer to the track. At one point I counted 18 photographers in the infield and that was just the one time that I counted. Glad you dodged that bullet Brian.

The white shirt was me. The 25c car landed in front of my (see pics) and the 11 went behind me. I told Brian after that I thought about him back there while it was going on.
Sometimes the cars to get a bit close. It is part of the deal with shooting still. I think the photographers sometimes pay closer attention than the officials to where the cars are on the track. Especially at speed. That said there are some photographers that stand to close to the edge of the track.
There is no "safe" place as Silver Dollar in the infield. Andy Forsberg hit the ambulance (and almost an attendent) a few years ago in the exact middle of the infield. Probably why they mostly park off Turn 3 now.
