I thought they were tearing down the old clay track to make a pavement one, but it sounds like they made a new clay oval track and there is going to be a race on April 18th! We went there a few years ago for a GSC race and had a fun time considering there is no curfew and no mufflers You can also park right by turns 3 and 4 and they had clay pits where you could make a bon fire- fun times for sure! I am curious if they will be racing sprint cars in the near future.
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Will they be racing on the same clay oval that was already there, or did they build a new one? Did they ever built the pavement oval? I hope that new series is a success and for only $7 a person is a great deal! That sounds like good family for the Fernley area I enjoyed my time in the Reno, Fernley area and would like to go back sometime!

It's the same track, just new management. I always liked going up there, can't wait to get there later this year.

Yes, same track, same owner, but outside management. The family squabbles that were the demise of the oval, (Rich Cable being the owner, and stepson Chris Cochlich running the oval) should have no effect on the track now, as long as Rich stifles himself and lets the new management do their job. Nevada Motorsport Promotions has shown what they can do in the past, and i am sure that will be the case with Fernley, as long as Rich stays away ...............The paved track was really just a deterent from the REAL issues that were going on in and around the facility. Go to http://www.nevadaracer.com to see the schedule and learn more about the new management team.
SUPPORT WILDLIFE, go to a sprint car race!
