Gates will open at 11:00am, with practice beginning at 1:00pm and
running until 6:00pm each day.
One Down, The Future to Go
More than 250 people, and thirty plus cars attended the first official
practice of the 2009 season at the Chowchilla Speedway on a
beautiful Sunday afternoon.
The drivers were able to get their first look at the new layout of the
track that is much wider and has new banking from top to bottom.
"Though we were not able to completely put in the surface due to the
bad weather, we were able to show the teams what the track will be
like as we did get turns one and two finished with the new surface.
We completely ripped the track apart last week and rebuilt it with new
banking, and widened it a bunch. I have to thank Koontz Construction
for their fantastic work on the race track, I have worked race tracks
for the last four years, and Chris and his staff are as good as I have
ever seen at what they do" adds Kenny Shepherd.
This coming Saturday is the next practice and work continues on the
race track to complete turns three and four before the opening race
on March 22nd.
