I sure hope Brett Burdette is okay...he took one heck of a ride last night! Hopefully someone on here has some good news they can share...

I hadn't seen a chassis crumble like that since Bud Kaeding's flip in the same corner at the same track last time USAC/CRA was visiting. Before that was Tyler Brown's crash a few years ago. I counted at least 10 complete breaks in Brett's chassis, including the front "A" posts of the cage and the upper and lower frame rails. I think that one more good roll and the cage would have been taken completely off. Scary!

I guess current the philosophy in frame construction is to dissipate energy from the driver, but I cannot imagine that the cage has to give like that. Of course, it took some serious hits and ultimately did its job...you can't really build anything bullet-proof with tube steel and still be practical.

Hell of a run for my Alpine neighbor Cole Whitt! To come from the "B" to win the "A" Main.

Great job young man! See you at Perris!
