I see on Hoseheads here, that there is a picture of Craig Keels new? ride. Anyone know if this is a 410 and what his plans are for the year. I know he did a lot of Posse racing last year. Thanks to all in advance.

Yes it is a 410 sprint car. Craig has moved to Green Springs Ohio and will be running the BK Sears 20x car for the F.A.S.T title in 2009. Look for them to hit Attica and Fremont mainly each weekend.

It will be interesting to see how Craig stacks up against FAST's best in a quality ride. It's also gonna be interesting to see who else decides to run the Attica/Fremont schedules for a share of 3 different point funds.

Just curious - I've looked at both websites for Fremont and Attica, and can find no mention of the amount of funds posted for the FAST championship. Has it been posted or announced yet?

I believe that the latest estimate was a $20,000 point fund (in addition to the track point funds) for the top 10 & rookie of the year, but Swamp can update you more accurately. The FAST organization has been very carefull to insure that this is new money, and not hurting track sponsorships in any way. Both tracks have event sponsors for every single one of their scheduled shows, with Fremont even adding an event by sponsor demand. It is possible that the FAST fund could grow by the start of the season. The support looks pretty darned impressive so far!

I am cautious to announce any sort of gauranteed money until the checks are cashed (and cleared), but right now ON PAPER....we have over $20,000 in cash and $20,000 in prizes/certificates/parts. Not too bad for the first season. We will continue to add to that throughout the season through merchandise sales, fan donations, and more events. There will be no gauranteed cash payout until the money has all been accounted for. I don't make promises based on promises. We've just recently begun to collect those funds and with this shaky economy we have been very understanding of companies with short cash flow in the off season. We've asked for commitments, but we're doing what we can to work with our sponsors and advertisers on collecting those funds.

Swamp, this sounds like a very good deal for weekly 410 racers in Ohio. Hope it works out well and proves to be a success. I always root for the success of anything that will help the status of weekly 410 racing.

It sounds like a good deal, with quite a bit of sponsors involved to achieve those levels of awards, but I'm wondering if you have any idea on how many teams will "split the pot" at the end of the year?
I certainly hope that you go deeper than the top ten.........and I realize that you're still in a planning mode, but I hope that you pay back as far as possible...

Even with just $20,000 going out, that is still one hell of a purse for a "non-sanctioned" points fund. I am really glad to here about that.

We're just working on the Top 10 for this year...and we are trying to trickle some down to the 305 sprints when and where we can. It hasn't been easy by any stretch of the imagination - it has been a lot of work putting this together, but I think it will be worth it in the end.

We should be getting more later this week as photographers in attendance send them in...
