Good question... my notes had nothing for the 6 car, the 65 car and the blue Jennings car all at Devils Bowl

Well it says the crew chief is James Roberts on the hood, so I would say it is Howie Sewell

That last pic on Pg. 3 is that Dutch driving that car with Chilton on the hood, did'nt he drive that car some back then?

Yes...that was Dutch in the 501

Anyone know for sure if the wingless 6 car was Jon Johnson? Or the last wingless Jennings car...which Jennings and the number?

David Brotherton also drove that car on the 1/4 mile with a six cylinder in it, I think it was a Barnett chassis.

Same driving suit as in this photo of Jon, looks like. Maybe Jon's #1 fan (BC) is lurking out there.

Another writer in that thread says Herb Copeland is living down in the Sooner state. Might be another one to get in touch with about the get-to-gethers you are having.

I talked briefly to Larry Dewell at the KAR banquet this weekend. He had just been to Herb Copeland's house, and said he does live in the Grand Lake area and that Grady Wade just lives a few doors away also.

If you guys know how I can contact Herb let me know. I live on Monkey Island which is on Grand Lake and would really enjoy seeing him. Thanks

Tony

On the #6 Johnson car, I believe it is a Jelly chassis car, one of maybe 3 or 4 -four bar cars Jelly built. I own it now.Ron C.

Tony

I am trying to get contact info for Larry Dewell, Herb Copeland, and Grady Wade. Several are wanting to get in touch with them. I know Larry is in the Fowler Ks area, and the other two at Grand Lake. Will do more checking and let you and jstew know what I find out.

Warren, I'm not trying to be a "smartie" but I was told by a prominent member of that crew that it was a Performance Engineering car "Jelly" and sent a pic myself to Mr. Wilhelm who confirmed. Since I am restoring the car, I just want to get the facts straight. I have talked to Jon 2 yrs ago about it also. I don't want to represent it as something its not. I have a pic of an identical car with Performance Engineering' on it but can't seem to load it.Maybe I'll try sending it to you personally.I just need to know the facts.... Thanks,Ron Cubic

The car I see above looks a lot more like a Jelly than a Parson. Back in the old days , most of those things didn't matter, but now they do to us. I'm voting Jelly.

This is Jery Everhart with what looks like to me a Parson.
