Oh boy-
Hasn't this gone on long enough? Isn't everyone bored? The Daily Drama is yesterdays news, and the rumours don't mean a thing.
No disrespect intended to Mr. Kearns or Dave Swindell, but their issues are none of our business. Rather than spread false rumours, or get our little panties in a bunch over something we can't do a thing about, it is time to sit and wait. Someone will end up with the right to run races at Santa Maria, and at that time each of us can choose if we want to play with them or not.
The people who are passionate about racing like Doug(?) and Pete that are not shelling out money as promoters or car owners, in the big picture have little influence if any on what happens this season. Their tirades, bickering, snivelling, and speech's offer nothing more than Barber shop gossip, but we all buy into it like a bunch of fools. Both Doug and Pete have their agenda's that they support and that is fine, but more energy we put in to their little war amount to nothing more than off season mental masturbation.
We as a race team plan to run when time and money allows us to, because this is a Hobie. Expensive yes, but none of us running non wing 360's are making a living at it. It is for fun, all that we can do is hope that the promoters are willing to unify the rules as you run at different tracks. We plan to run Grand Slams, some Bakersfield, some Ventura, some Santa Maria, and Tulare with a non wing 360. We may run some USAC with a 410. If we have to run a different tire at each track, we will make choices of where we will go and where we won't, no big deal, just the way life goes, but we are in it to have a good time.
If you want to start a travelling 360 series good luck, we will support you as best as we can, but in this economy you need a good sponsor and a good car count.
To those of us that will be in the pits sweating, or the ones sponsoring the cars, to the owners paying the bills, lets just focus on having a good season. Stop worrying about who said what, go get your car ready, and we will see you in Ventura on 4/4, at least they seem drama free this year.
Good Luck,
Butch Brazil

Butch with all due respect i think your a little off target here with your post. I have no influence on what the 360s do. Im friends with many of the drivers and i am just looking out for the best of the 360 group theres no tirade going on here its chris posting his schedule that he has worked out with other tracks. Im no longer affiliated with any of this as im no longer in the state. All i have said from the beginning is that the 360 need to be united and be one group of drivers to sell there shows to the tracks so they can get what they deserve respect and good paying shows. Good luck to you and your team this year.

Are these 360 sprints winged or non-winged cars?

Does Tulare and Chowchilla still plan running the Bandits on there announced dates and do they conflict with the above schedule? It looks as though Chris Kearns has a good relationship with the promoters at Bakersfield and Kings.

We are working on fine tuning a couple of glitches on the schedule and probably adding a July 4th race at SMS. Hopefully I will be able to post something tomorrow. Sorry, I made a couple of Rookie mistakes.
Thanks,
Chris Kearns

Doug-
I think I have hit the nail on the head, and apparently you agree with me. We have something in comon. You have no influence. Honestly, neither do I really other than providing a vote as to where our team will race. You dont even do that do you?
I apologize for entering into this exchange with you, clearly from this post as well as the many others I have seen from you, you would rather be a contributor to the problem rather than one that offer a viable solution.
Nevermind- your not worth my energy
Mr. Kearns , Mr. Swindell best wishes, both of you know that if you get the track you have a facility with a lot of potential, a loyal fan base, and group of drivers that throughly enjoy the opportunity to race there. As long as you hold true to your reputations of supporting the racers, and the fans, perparing a facility that is safe, and allows the people in the pits as well as the ones in the stands to SEE a good race, the racers will do their best to bring it.
Until the first green flag drops, I guess we will hear what Doug has to offer.
Over and out
Butch

Im gonna contribute by not taking away from this thread like you are. If you cant read in my post the viable solution is the 360s need unity which is what i have typed from day one. Good luck to you and your team this year.

The whole situation of all this 360 talk just beckons ASCS to come in and install a solid foundation to work with the track promoters and organize everything.

Seems to me getting together and organising is what their doing.Let the central Ca. guys work out their issuses without outside interferance.ASCS would never be the answer in my opinion, and out of state organization dictating ....well how well has USAC been for 410s in Ca./Az...the local racers[who know the players] seem to be asking about the details only ,while out of towners are acting as if a overhaul is required...dispite the fact these interlopers have never feilded a car and may never even see one of the races...Ive personally only ran a couple of races in the area and only been a spectator a hand full of times and I really don't feel I have any valid input ..leave it to the locals...

As of right now, the three Bandit dates at Tulare do not conflict with CK's new schedule. However, two of the three Bandit Chow shows do conflict.
Good luck to you Chris, looks like you have this deal headed in the right direction.

I wondered about the Ventura Grand Slam race as well. Seems silly to have a kings race against it, but to have the other 2 Grand Slam races on the schedule. Maybe thats one of the things that Chris refered to that is going to get ironed out.

See the thing is I am a local...Been going to Santa Maria Speedway since I was 16...am now 50...and plan to run for the first time this year in the 360 class......You are correct...I have been paying attention to the details as it seems that every two years the rules/ promoters seem to change...As the 360 (or Bandit Class)..whichever is politically correct, seems to be built around the ASCS 360 rules. I have built my Ford motor accordingly...As it is in the final stages of being assembled I am concerned that the rules will change again and my project which has taken 4 years and a lot of money will be thrown out....How many times has ASCS changed their rules?...I am probably wrong but it seems to me that they are still sticking pretty much to the rules that they started with...I understand the problems that can be created with one controling sanction and different promoters....But on the flipside I also see problems with promoters running with rules exclusive to their own track.... It limits you as to where you can race your car without having to spend more dollars to fit that certain tracks rules.....ASCS seems to make it possible to avoid that problem.....

Ferrin Motorsport, I have not seen posted from any promoter that they are going to change rules to be track specific. It looks like a 360 wingless sprint car could run Ventura, Bako, Hanford, Tulare, SMS, and Chow with the same rules package. Bringing in ASCS looks like it would not help a thing, just create an out of state organization dictating what the CA 360's should be doing...IMO. Lets just let the dust settle and it will be fine!
