Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders Announce 2009 Schedule!

(Bill W) February 6, 2009 – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders Association has announced their schedule. Twenty events are scheduled for 2009, including 17 point shows. The series will celebrate its eighth year of existence, kicking off the season April 3 at the Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois, and ending with Season Championship Night at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa.

Following the season opener in Jacksonville, the series travels to 34 Raceway on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18. There, the First Annual running of the Spring Nationals will commence. The two-night event will kick off the sprint car racing season in Iowa promising a bigger purse ($2500 to Saturday's winner), and a healthy car count!

A pair of Friday shows in May are slated for Jacksonville (May 15) and CJ Raceway in Columbus Junction, Iowa (May 22). Saturday, June 6, the series returns to 34 Raceway, before a Sunday, June 28, date on the high-banked Quad City Raceway in East Moline, Illinois.

The schedule really heats up in July. The Sprint Invaders will again be part of "Firecracker 50" night at West Liberty Raceway in West Liberty, Iowa on July 4. The following Thursday (July 9) they will headline the card at the Cedar County Raceway in Tipton, Iowa during the Fair. The following evening (July 10) they will make their annual trek to the Lee County Speedway during the county fair held there. Sunday, July 19, the series makes the first of two appearances at the Quincy Raceways near Quincy, Illinois.

The Knoxville Raceway 360 Nationals will be held August 6 through 8 this season, and on the Saturday following the 49th Annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals (August 22), the series returns to 34 Raceway.

Five dates in September are planned, including a big three-race weekend in Illinois. On September 5, the series visits CJ Raceway. The big weekend in Illinois will include the Herb Barlow Memorial at the Morgan County Speedway on Friday, September 11, the Tom Knowles Memorial at the Spoon River Speedway near Canton on Saturday, September 12, and a return to Quincy Raceways on Sunday, September 13. The Season Championship concludes the season at 34 Raceway on Saturday, September 26.

The POWRi National Midget series will join the Sprint Invaders for three entertaining open-wheel twin bills in 2009! The midgets will join the program on May 15 and September 11 in Jacksonville, and at Spoon River on September 12.

Prospective owners and drivers are encouraged to pre-register as early as possible with the Sprint Invaders. The first twenty owners to register will receive a discount on a right rear tire from American Racer. The series would like to thank its primary sponsor Ideal Ready Mix, Heat sponsor, Golden Eagle Distributing – Budweiser of Burlington, trophy sponsor, Staats Custom Awards and B main sponsor, Holtkamp's Trailer Repair of West Burlington, as well as all contingency and associate sponsors!

If you had to pick one track on that list to go to this year what would you pick? Don't pick Knoxville I've already been there. I usually like short tracks better, but arguments for 1/2 miles can be made. The racing would be the best where? Other attractions that make it worthwhle? Why should i goto that race? Thanks for any opionions.

now that there should be some dead time before the next race, I will bump this to the top. Any one have suggestions?

Oh, I thought the question was one track not on the schedule to go to. Of the listed tracks, I think I like Spoon River the best (when it's not super rubber down like it was last Sept.).

Last year was my first to the Quad City Raceway and that was a cool track...high-banked 1/4 with plenty of action...

The good thing about all these tracks is they are bullrings with plenty of action for this group. The two-day Spring Nationals at Burlington will be a good one to see the week before Knoxville opens and should attract a high car count...

At first I thought this would be easy! I have been to every track for a sprint invaders race except for Morgan County. Every Track except for West Liberty which is a 1/2 mile has a quality about it which made it a great race to watch.CJ, 34, Lee County & Spoon River are 3/8 mile and very racey. Least favorite of these would be Lee County due to they take for ever to get through they're programs. CJ would be next least due to you have to leave the race grounds to walk out to the restrooms so this means you have to check out and back in. Ouad City, Quincy & Cedar County Raceways are 1/4 mile but all three had exciting racing at each and facilties were nice. I will have to choose 34 raceway! My reason nice facilty , evey race was fun last year and it's closest to my home. Otherwise every track is a great place to watch racing and the Sprint Invaders put on a great show at each so no matter which track you get to see the Sprint Invaders race at it should be a great show & a fun facilty. So try this choose the track closest you and if you enjoy the racing then try the next closest that is my recomendation.

34 is far and away the nicest facility on the list other than Knoxville(obviously)

More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!

If you love the short tracks. I would have to say that Quincy and Jacksonville are both great racing. Lots of action. Bill W. is right East moline is great too. I guess I'm no help. I seem to like them all. LOL. Just come to them all and you tell us.

Tell me how much money you got and I'll tell you how
