Haubstadt, IN - Feb 1, 2009. Today the officials of the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series are releasing the complete schedule for the 2009 racing season. This year?s schedule includes 18 dates at tracks across a three state region. MSCS will once again appear in the states of Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky.

The season will open on Saturday night May 2nd at the Terre Haute Action Track. The half mile facility will once again be under the management of DHK Promotions in 2009. Sunday May the third will serve as a rain date if one is needed.

The second race will be the next week on Saturday at Tri-State Speedway. The May 9th event will be the first of seven MSCS race cards at the Southwestern Indiana track. Tri-State Speedway has served as the port of call for the touring MSCS series since 2006. Promoters Tom & Loris Helfrich will host the series at least once a month in June, July, and August. In May and September the MSCS sprints will make two appearances at the quarter mile facility.

Florence Speedway in Union, KY, will have 2 MSCS races during 2009. The first is set for May 16th and a second show will be held on August 29th. The track is a fast, banked half mile oval which is promoted by Jerry King.

Fans and competitors of MSCS can plan to spend a portion of all three holiday racing weekends at Tri-State Speedway. Programs on Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday July 4th, and the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend will all feature $3,000 to win MSCS Sprint shows. The POWR i Midgets will also be in competition with the sprints on July 4th. Drivers have an opportunity to do double time by racing in both divisions.

On Saturday May 30th Clay County Speedway at Flora, IL, will present an MSCS Sprint program. That race will be the fifth consecutive week of racing for the series. ;MSCS will have had a show each of the 5 weekends in May. Track promoter Richard Burmeister has also agreed to a second date for the series at his third mile oval. That date is on August 15th.

June 5th will also be the first of two nights of racing for the MSCS series at Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville, IL. The purse for the first show is topped with $3,000 to win. The next night June 6th the cars and drivers will be back at Tri-State Speedway to compete with the King of Indiana Sprints (KISS) for a top prize of $2500.

Vermilion County Speedway at Danville, IL, will offer MSCS sprints Saturday night June 27th and then again on Saturday night September 12th. The new track promoter at the quarter mile facility is Joe Spiker.

On Friday September 25th the Morgan County Speedway at Jacksonville, IL, will be presenting the 18th annual Shaheen?s Back from the Past but this year it will be MSCS sanctioned and pay $10,000 to win. The addition of this race to the schedule will provide three $10,000 to win shows in three weeks for MSCS competitors to target. Morgan County Speedway promoter Billy West continues to strive to provide his track?s fan base with an opportunity to witness top notch sprint car racing action.

The season will end with the Lawrenceburg Nationals on Saturday October 4th. That is the third race this coming season set to pay $10,000 to win, It will again serve as the last race for the 2009 MSCS season and as the night that the 2009 MSCS Sprint Car Champion will be crowned! Promoter Dave Rudisell?s new 3/8s of a mile track is a dazzling place to race!

In 2009 the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series will race at eight different facilities. Drivers winning the features these night will collect a total of $73,500 as the winner?s portion of all the combined purses. MSCS certainly appreciates and acknowledges the support and co-operation of all the Speedway owners, promoters, and staff members in working together to create this schedule and such a promising season.
