Just my thoughts, 360 Racing in California seems to be the stepchild for the 410's you can tell from the purses and the hardware for the champions of the their series, It doesn't make since to me when 360's bring average car count of about 36 cars or so also lots of fans, Fuel cost the same Tires cost the same Cars cost the same exception is the Engine block cost maybe $6000.00 more vs cast iron 360 Truck Trailer same, 360's Have twenty guys that could win on any given night 410's have about seven with maybe twenty car count now don't take me wrong in what I'm saying I do like 410 racing as well as 360. I do think the Champions of both should be the same monies and hardware
What I'm saying is both clubs should be racing for a lot more money and believe me I'm no expert in the financial part of the business I do know what it cost to run a Sprintcar I do not know what it takes to put on a show or cost of, But in the same since I can add the back gate up pretty close but this is just me thinking not intended to step on any ones toes.
What id like to see is that 360's go to ASCS Engine so you can anywhere to race not just California and they're to be a club that it would similar to Drag Racing clubs where you have regions ( Actually there is a club out that has regions I feel we should be part of ) and you'll have selected race's lets say five a year for National events all over the country you can only go if your in the top five in points and they pay say twenty thousand to win you would then have the very best to race against from all over the states.
And then if you want a cheaper way of wing racing start a 305 class out here with smaller wings and smaller tires and set the rules where it is affordable to race which was the idea be hide the 360's to start with and now cost the same to run as a 410
Just my Thoughts and I'm sure you can add to this and criticize it but I have big shoulders and never been one not to say how I feel

Just a comment from a former 360 racedad don't forget to take your cast iron block to get it lightened. Not cheap. Then put in the titanium rods and head studs and everything else you can think of and your 6000.00just went to hell. Why do people buy 360's anyway. I agree with you totally Richard on the ASCS and did for years don't know what the problem is here but it would be nice to be able to race elsewhere once in a while since every other place is ASCS. Yes I am sure the comments will be swift and sharp.

I completely agree richard, this has been on a lot of peoples minds for a long time. I am a pretty young guy but i have been around for a while in the pits, YES even worked with the GREAT Richard Brown and the whole 2sb team and the ascs engines might have saved us quite a bit of money this year in the civil war series. Plus I would love to have another chance to head north and run with those guys up there because last time we went was with gary morgan and we had a lot of fun with a lot of good people. if we could use ascs engines it would have been great about eighteen years ago when this 360 deal was starting but not much choice here in cali. 410 racing here in california is greatly overrated to me just cause the track sizes we use here other than stoga and hanford. Just to much motor for to little racetrack. Just my 2 cents cause if RBrown has some so does everyone else LOL

The basic problem with your argument, R, is it makes way too much sense. Can't wait to see the schedules finalized and see how badly the promoters screw each other. They just can't seem to get it that 20 races with 30 cars is better than 30 races with 15. (Or 12) .......................... or 8

Good Day All; So Kgray you wouldn't happen to be suggesting something thats needed and would benefit the sport and all that love it, such as a 3/8 or 1/2 mile clay oval built right in the middle of everything say somewhere like say Oroville in Northern Calif. which get happens to be right smack dap in the middle of everywhere even the map says so, and even comes with its own limitless clay source not found anywhere else and strong enough to hold the largest earththin dam on the planet together by itself. Your not suggesting something as logical as that are you, WOW what a concept. If so you are more than wellcome to shot me an email I'm willing to discuss the matter with you and anyone who might agree. WOW what a concept. Dennis

the guy that won the ocean civil war race last year was using an ascs motor. i believe he won a calistoga civil war race last year with an ascs motor as well. my point is you can use an ascs motor any time you want, AND be 75 lbs lighter in civil war. no one is stopping you. most civil war teams have 2 motors, why not make one an ascs so you can travel to out of the area ascs shows? when ascs motors are the only motors that can be run i bet you see their price creep up. i believe an ascs motor is getting close to the same price as an open 360 now. i am not arguing anything here, just pointing out anyone can use an ascs motor anytime they want, and get a really good weight break, if they think it will save them money.
to indy and beyond!!
