If you look in the garage, it appears that is the front end of a sprint car. Am I right or is it just bad visison?

looks like it to me as well

According to Kfor news at 5 the gentleman that lost his life was Harold Rhodes. Prayers go out for his family.

Found out he was 45 yrs. old and the last name of Rhodes. It was either Henry or Frank. They gave the name on KFOR at 6:00 PM.

They said on the news that a son lived in the house with the mom and dad as well. They said that both the son and dad were welders, so could possibly be the sons racecar.

Back in the early 70's, there was a guy named Harold Rhoads who lived here in OKC and raced or had a race car I think Billy South drove for him at the old I-35 Speedway in Goldsby, Okla., He had a son Named Harold Rhoads Jr. who was a couple of years older than me, which would make him about 45 years old, He also had another son about my age named Jimmy Rhoads. back then, I remember going over to their house sometimes and usually had 2 or 3 hobby stockers in the back yard, used to go out to the old I-35 Speedway back in those days also. Not sure if this is the same Rhodes, but Billy South knows the Rhodes I,m talking about

He moved here from California about two or three years ago.  He visited our trailer several times and seemed like a nice guy.  He raced in Cal. but his car was not legal here until he converted his engine, but then he only raced a few times.  I kind of remember that he had his daughter or wife with him, but I don't remember a son.

We did not know them either but they were a part of a racing community. Apparently, they had the "itch" just like the rest of us.

May he rest in peace and condolences to the family.

Charles, I'm also a photographer and shoot at State Fair Speedway as well. If you will e-mail me at [email protected] I would be happy to send you some pics. I did not know Eddie on a personal level but he will be missed at State Fair Speedway.

Crazy I am just now stumbling upon this post in this forum. If anyone sees this message, my name is Kenny Rhoads. The man that died in that fire was my father. His name is Harold Edwin Rhoads III "Fast Eddie". He was married to my mother Amber Rhoads. I have two brothers and two sisters, Eddie, Tisha, Roman and Kailey. Dad started racing sprints in he early 90s in Northern California with the NCMA Sprints in dirt, we were also the first class of Renegade 360 Sprints to race winged on asphalt in California. Most tracks including the Altamont 1/2 mile asphalt. Dad started as #98 and later changed his number to his lifetime racing number 78. We moved to oklahoma in 2001 and had to make a lot of mods to legally race here. Only raced a couple seasons in Oklahoma, OKC and Lawton. In California dad was one of the top drivers in both classes taking 1st in most of his races and was Season Champion in 2000 of the Renegade Sprints in California. He was a lot of fun to be around and is missed dearly. I am in the process of developing a website memorial tI share pictures and videos. If anyone by chance sees this forum and has any pictures or videos they would like to share please email them to me at [email protected]. Thank You!

Unfortunately we had to sell his cars, but he "itch" is still alive and well in the family. I am planning to get in the seat myself as soon as I can afford it! Lol
