Claudine Deshaies Wins JEI/Shaver '410' in Museum Raffle
12/19/2008 - Claudine Deshaies of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, is the lucky grand prize winner of the National Sprint Car Museum's "You’ll Be in Seventh Heaven With #7" sprint car raffle. The loyal raffle ticket-buyer will receive a new state-of-the-art JEI chassis with a new Ron Shaver Specialties 410-cubic-inch racing engine. When contacted by phone, Deshaies, who was stranded in Las Vegas due to yesterday’s record snowfall there, was thrilled about having the museum’s current board president Mike Brooks draw her ticket as the non-profit foundation's seventh sprint car raffle winner.
Additional prize winners include Rick Robinson of Indiana, Michael Grassmyer of Pennsylvania, Rusty Wagner of Ohio, Michael Swann of California, Tim Knight (Jr.) of New Mexico, Bob Rawson of North Carolina, Laurie Mansfield of South Dakota, Dan Roberts of Oregon, Dave Jackson of New Mexico, and the late National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Rich Vogler’s mother Eleanor Vogler of Indiana. They will receive the additional prizes that had been generously donated by Smiley Sitton Outlaw Driving School, Simpson, Kwik Check, Mechanix Wear, Speedway Motors, Gary Lynch Pro-Formance Products, DeeZee, and Hepfner Racing Products. Kris Krohn videotaped the drawing viewable at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY60RRPlL-Y as well as many racing web sites.
According to museum executive director Bob Baker, "We can't thank Barry and Natalie Jackson of JEI Performance and Ron Shaver of Shaver Specialties enough for all of their support on this 18-month fundraising project. These companies and all the rest of the product donors continue to step up to the plate in a big way for our 501(c)(3) non-profit museum foundation. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to all of the raffle ticket-buyers and our own board of directors, staff and volunteers for making the tickets available to the general public. Everyone's support truly allows us to continue promoting the future of sprint car racing by preserving it's past history."

Don't get carried away Bill, I can't do weekly. But I will make it when the job and budget allow. And there is not a smiley in the world that can convey my feelings right now.
