I read where XXX was there in force. So, What other vendors are necessary? Oh, but engines are still built here, at least for now.

no one is too excited about sprint racing, there's a lot of bemoaning the WoO stock price and the tentative schedule...

Speak for yourself... or are you the official spokesperson for motorsports in general and and sprint car fans in particular?

Chris Paulson of C&R Radiators and a couple investors are bringing it back to Indy next year. Forgot what they are calling the show, but it is scheduled for December 2nd and 3rd I believe.

When they moved it down to FL it was suppose to be for 5 years only while a convention center in Indy was being built. This year was year number 5. And the Show and the Industry Mag that also carrys the same name are put on by Steve Lewis. The first year down in Orlando the year of the famed NSL NST WOO the only big stand alone Sprint Car vendors was BR motorsports, USAC, WOO and an empty NSL booth.

Hard for me to describe how this years event was as I did not attend, though I do agree that some of us were under the impression that after a certain period the show was scheduled to return to Indianapolis- yet, according to some of the information I read from PRI, the Orlando venue dates have been extended. It is what it is I guess, though from a handfull of exhibitors and attendees I talk to- the show doesn't quite have the same appeal or atmosphere that it did in Indy. Again, just what some are telling me. Quite honestly, either way- I do miss attending PRI- though do plan on attending next year in Orlando. For those whom attended, thank you for sharing your trip- as I am sure it still was a really grand event. We'll see in the coming years where PRI will be held, but either way it will continue to be our industries grandest gathering and an event many of us, attending or not, will look forward to.

Merry Christmas everyone!

New motorsport trade show in Indianapolis in 2009

5th December 2008

A new American motorsport trade show, the International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS), is scheduled to take place on December 2-3, 2009 at the Indianapolis Convention Centre.

The International Motorsports Industry Show is owned and promoted by Performance Events Promotions (PEP) and assisted in presentation by the Indiana Motorsports Association.

Chris Paulsen, the owner of C&R Racing Inc., a co-partner in PEP and the president of the Indiana Motorsports Association said, “Indy is the Racing Capital of the World, and the IMIS show will thrive in this town which is deep in auto racing history and heritage. Our mission is to create a ‘hard-core’ racing trade show that exemplifies this rich heritage. I challenge anyone to show me a more advantageous location for a true motorsports trade show.

“This will not be a ‘fuzzy dice’ show. It will showcase only companies dealing with professional motorsports competing wheel to wheel on a race course. We will welcome the manufacturing equipment companies as well as the transportation side of the sport, as these are both key elements to the industry. Basically, if it’s not directly related to helping a race team take the checkered flag, it won’t be displayed at IMIS.”

XXX did have a bigger booth this year

WoO and USAC had there normal booth size and location. Saw Tommy from ASCS and Pete from USCS

Probally ten display sprint cars on display

Sprint specific booths Maxim, JEI, XXX, HRP, FSR, and most others were there however there were two less rows of vendors which made aisle wider and easier to walk. Not anywhere close to the people that were there last year.

Alot more tuner and porsche stuff

I worked the NSSN booth this week at PRI.

PRI is staying in Orlando until 2013 I believe. They require 1M square feet of space and Indy can only provide them 850K square feet. Walking around there was a ton of unused pass. I was told they lost 160 vendors from last year, but gained 100 new vendors. So, it wasn't that bad of a lose.

It sounded like a lot of the vendors really enjoyed this year, because the people that were there were the serious buyers and didn't have to waste a lot of time talking to the tire kickers, a term I've never heard before.

The prices at the refreshment stands were unbelievable. By far, the pricest food I've ever seen.

Howl at the Moon was an awesome bar and all the best sprint car drivers were there. Brent Kaeding was cool as hell. I got to talk to him and Wayne Johnson for about thirty minutes. Donny and Hockett were pretty wasted from what I saw and Sides was his usual self. I got to hangout with McCarl and Meyers at BB Kings and they both talked to me like they knew me for years. My favorite was Tim Crawley. He hung out by our space for about thirty minutes and talked a lot about the ASCS and USCS. He's really wants too get past his bad luck at the Short Track Nationals and win it on TV next year.

To top the whole weekend off, I got to watch Kinser do a private test sessions at Volusia Speedway. WOW.... His trailer pulled into the pits the night before during the limited sprint race. Wonder what was going through everyones mind when that big Quaker State rig was rolling around the back stretch. I heard they put out a few lawn chairs and watched the races alone in turn 2. The winner of the 750cc midget race was a parapaligic <-No Clue How To Spell That....Pretty amazing. I wasn't at the race, so don't hold me to this story.

Congratulations - you're now two-for-two at fact-free and logically devoid posts in this thread.

Of course that is just my opinion. wink
