If I get sick from breathing fumes at a racetrack that is my choice. That is different from a non smoker getting cancer from people sitting around me at the track, bar, restaurant, etc smoking.
Smoking is legal. Making me breath your smoke in public should not be.

21 posts in a thread on smoking in Iowa... we're getting into a weird "off season" area here.

what ever happened to letting bar and bussiness owners run there own bussiness. but the casino's are ok. where is the liberty in this country. if i smoke i no the bars are going to be smoky. it is my choice to go. now if i smoke it the owners choice what i do in there buildings. its to bad we have to come to more goverment contol of what we can do and cant do. more and more of the freedom is being taken away. just my thoughts.

For src. Casinos, at least Indian Casinos are not exceptions to state laws. State laws simply do not apply to them. If the government of any tribe passes laws outlawing smoking in their Casinos then and only then will they be smoke free. Personally I wish my Tribe would pass such a law however the State of Oklahoma has outlawed smoking in all public places, leaving the Indian Casinos as the smokers only place to light up.Unfortunitly is appears that the vast majority of our Casino patrions smoke.
How many of you Chilibowl regulars are aware that smoking is not allowed in the expo building and hasn't been for years. However my observation has been that it isn't policed at all in the pits and only occasionally in the stands. I didn't see any effort to police it at all last year.

Not sure why it's different.
You are willingly placing yourself in an environment with threat that you know about. And last I checked, the track, bar, and restaurant are not public places. You have no entitlement to attend any of the forementioned. You are invited in by owners. They should set the rules.

From what I've heard, you can smoke at Iowa Reststops only in your vehicle with the windows up. These lawmakers don't have enough to do...

I once went to a racetrack that had signs posted above the sections of bleachers. They said "Smoking" , "Non-smoking" , and "Family Section-self explanatory" ??? Were they expecting us to start a family right there?
