you've seen the last 15 laps of a VRA 360 feature. If you only come to Ventura Raceway to see the USAC 410 show you're missing the best racing you will have a chance to see. More than one VRA 360 qualifies in the top ten when the 410s run.
Tonight will be the same deal on steroids. You'll be checking the turn 4 fence height and wondering if it's tall enough. Your eyeballs will stretch two different directions. When the cushion goes more than one driver will use the turn 2 wall for a berm. Remember at Ascot when you began to wonder if you'd parked your family car far enough away from the turn? This is how it gets at Ventura.
Grab the family, get in the car and go. Leave early and stay away from the 210, North 5 and North 405 because of the Sylmar fire. Take the 101 all the way.
Make sure you take any heart medication well in advance of the green flag.
Pit gate opens at noon and I'm oughta here.
Everything you know is wrong.

After reading that I looked at my watch and wondered if I jumped in my Jeep right now, and hauled a**, would I make it in time?
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

You ain't seen nothing untill you've seen the last 15 laps of a VRA 360 feature
LOL. Last time I went to Ventura I saw about 200 laps of junk before I saw the VRA feature. Thanks, but no thanks!

Your loss gjracefan.
My stomach is all full of butterflies already, just thinking about Rutherford and Thomson pounding the boards as they ride that high line. And Kierce and Camarillo sling it in low and toss that coastal dirt up into the stands. There really is nothing like it.
The other class heats (dwarf and sport compacts) actually are going to be run before the flag ceremony, so get there early.
Stick around after the races and stop by the #66 Senior Sprint of Chris Meredith and say Hi .
Get your fill before the track goes dark for the winter.

It's true, a normal night you will see a bunch of racing all night long from 5 till 9:30. At Perris you get 3 or 4 heats and a main.
Here's the schedule for tonight
Please note Schedule for this Saturday November 15th

My guess is that there will be 50 VRA sprints and 20 Senior sprints, could be more or less.
But I have not seen a BAD VRA MAIN ALL YEAR. I have seen a bad CRA race at Ventura this year when Cory lead evey lap at the Wags dash, maybe if he had not started on the pole.
Anyone coming, LEAVE EARLY the 101 will be a big mess with the fires today, and bring a jacket, it will probably be warmer than normal, but it normally is quite at the beach. Bring a warm jacket and a blanket.
I've heard 40 cars are already entered, so my prediction of 50 might be a little low.
Is it race time already, and for gj, have fun at Perris, it will just give us more room at the beach , but I gotta agree the dwarfs can be a little draining at times while you want to see the 360's get it on at the "Best Little Dirt Track In America"

Our drivers in CRA have just as good of drivers as VRA does . I have been to both CRA and VRA races and I always have a good time and always see a good race. I dont care what the letters are in an association I will still support it because its Sprint car racing . This thread started out as a good one for Ventura raceway and its racers but you have to go and make it about CRA and Perris and your negitivity towards them . It all comes down to this a Sprint car is a Sprint car no matter the motor size or what track they run on . Some like 410's some like 360's And some like them both .

Sure I am a 410 fan and I like Perris. But I also respect and admire the great drivers of VRA. I just can't be at both places at once. Rutherford, Kierce, Taylor, Crawford and all of them are great! Lets not go there. There is no point in it. Thanx to a great sprint car supporter - All Coast Construction for the great purse they have posted for the last race of an exciting year for the VRA. Nice post Joe. Peace.

JD, sounds like something is a little low all right. Maybe it's time to get the old dip stick checked.
