Let's look at what "Bozo" Bushey had to say. Think he's related to the president?

"Nonwing fans see the level of racing at this year’s Oval Nationals often, nonwing fans are lucky to see what they saw in Tulare once a year."

Give me a break. I heard the racing at Perris was Phenomenal. I don't think non-wing fans see the level of competion at the Oval Nationals on a regular basis. That's why it's called the Oval Nationals.

I bet wing fans are lucky to see what they saw in Tulare once a year!

"Both shows drew better as the 3 days progressed and anyone who was at either place or both saw racing as good as it can get."

I certainly hope so with purses of 110,000 dollars and 60,000 dollars I hope the fans get what they payed for. Tell me something we don't already know for God's sake.

Doug Bushey ends up with this quote:

Talk about non-logical racers, over 180 IMCA modifieds will show up for $5,000 to win on Saturday with a pretty significant drop after 1st. This is in Las Vegas.

I can tell you this guy is not a racer. If you race to make money you're a looser. Most racers

would race for free if they could afford it. It's just that a little purse and sponsorship allows them

to show up at the track on a regular bais. Most racers show up to Perris, Hanford, Ventura

and never make ends meet. They race because they love it.

Ahhhh...excuse me Mr. Grasshopper, Doug Bushey did not write the quotes that you attribute him too. It was scribed by Ron Rodda, but thats only a small detail to you I guess.

You're right Bruce. I Rodda's a good read and Doug Bushey is a very good poster here.

Didn't we squash the hopper before Smile

I was at Tulare, Ovals, and Manzy, they were all great races. Nothing to bitch about at all from a fans perspective. (the purse was a little light for a 3 day show though at the Ovals with it only paying $3k for 2nd place, that's ridiculous though!!!!! and the trophies on Thursday and Friday ugh compared to Manzy those were real trophies!!!!!!! all three nights in each division. And man oh man, they sure had some of the best ribs I ever tasted for just $6 in Manzy, had them two nights in a row! But from a fans perspective, each race was a barn burner!!!! Smile

Ventura has some tough standards to live upto this weekend and so does Turkey Night, but if they fall a little short its OK. It's almost impossible to have that great of racing as the last 3 weeks, but I'm sure Naylor and Ventura will give it a shot!

Anyone got any grasshopper repellant?

PS It was a dead on read, it was like you were at the Ovals and the Trophy Cup!

I guess the new nickname "Bozo" is deserved, for I neglected to give credit to both the author and origin of the article that I had found, which was written by Ron Rodda and was found on Hoseheads.com. I respect Mr. Rodda and Mr. Holland and apologize to both for not giving them the credit and respect that is deserved.
