$5,000.00 to win at Ventura. If your not on the points where are you going to race this weekend? Where are the fans going to be? I have heard of alot of rentals at Ventura for this race.

WHO IS GOING WHERE????

Kruseman, Jesse, Dustin Morgan uh no brainer Ventura double the $ to win.

Plus we just saw 3 incredible nights at Perris, and I saw 3 incedible nights at Manzy.

Now wouldn't it be funny if a local VRA driver like Kierce or Taylor took the $5K and didn't get stolen from a midwesterner like Jesse has the last 3 or 4 nights (Perris Sat, all 3 nights in the 360 at Manzy, and oh so close in the 410 at Manzy).

And you know Cory is set on Kill after his disappointing performance at the Oval Nationals, rumor is that ITI is building him a killer 360 for the show.

And a few cars from AZ might just show up, the team car to Brad Sweet in the 360's said they are going to make the trip up.

If VRA (Naylor) could relax that gasket rule and run the ASCC (the rules that most of the nation run with head) there would be a crap load of cars showing up from everywehere). But my guess is that by keeping the gasket rules, it will assure that a local car will most likely win the race, my money is on Cory or Jesse Hockett. Jesse is on a terror now. But after seeing the trophy cup, Oval nationals, 360-410 Western at Manzy I've learned one thing, it ain't over till the last lap.

So if you want to see a standard paying 410 CRA race go to Perris, if you want to see a star studded event with some big name race car studs, go to Ventura for their BIG EVENT of the year. Plus you got one more event at the end of year at Perris, plus you got the Paved Turkey Night Grand Prix which I heard Kasy Kahne might be racing, he did run PIR in a midget.

You gotta love the West Coast.

PS The Cruzer (Cruz Pedregon is going for his first as a car owner NHRA Funny Car championship this weekend, no matter where you go, Perris, Ventura, or Pomona you are assured of having a great time!)

Leaning towards Ventura. Hockett on that bullring is quite appealing to this race fan.

Eveyone has there own agenda, KOP

besides how many of the CRA racers would run a 360 show anyway?

and how many hardcore 410 fans would attend a 360 show and how many Ventura 360 fans would go to a Perris CRA regular show.

It's not really a big deal except for maybe 50 hardcore fans and maybe 5 drivers.

Two different series just 2 hours apart. For me a no brainer, Ventura this week, Perris the next, and than finish the season at Irwindale, and than I heard Tuscon or somewhere in AZ has a 2 day race near Jan 1. And we start all over with the Copper Classic in Feb with Midgets, Sprints and Silver Crown. My feeling, the more races the better! Especially if there is HIGH PAYING ONES LIKE THE ONE AT VENTURA THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!! for a one day show. The 2 and 3 day shows are killers for the car owners, especially if they only pay $3k for second place frown.

PS I saw the Tony Stewart (only one) trailer on the way back home near Ontario, CA guessing they sent back the Silver Crown and Sprints to Indiana. I wonder where they park the trailor till Turkey Night. Would of been cool if the Mopar and Chevy teams raced the last 2 CRA races, but I doubt that is in the cards.

But look for Levi Jones to race for Crossno at the Turkney night Grand Prix in a brand new 360 ITI powered Vipor. This years Turkey night grand prix should be really cool for the pavement fans, yeah I know the dirt fans will stay home, but after 20-50 (whatever dirt shows you guys have seen this year) I kinda get excited to see one of the best pavement shows of the year with all the best drivers and equipment that shows up at Irwindale Smile

In order to compete at Ventura you MUST join VRA, buy a VRA Rt Rear tire (and use it exclusively) Run the VRA legal 180 degree mufflers, and run the ASCS gaskets, as well as comform to all the other VRA rules.

This needs to be clarified with several teams. I am sure a lot of teams do not know that you must be a VRA member in order to collect the prize money being posted on Sat. There needs to be a sign at the pit gate reminding all owners that you will have to spend $150 to get a membership to compete for this one race. I understand why this is being done, but I talked to some teams from Arizona last weekend who were going to come down, and dont want any teams to tow 8 hours and be surprised. I will make some phone calls today. Look forward to Sat, hoping to redeem my dreadful season.

On a side note: Dustin Morgan will not be in my car as planned. His dad brought there cars from Oklahoma after his showing at the Ovals in the Kunz car. They have decided to run the Perris 410 show.

JDFAST,

The Tucson race is the Roger McCluskey Classic and is a two day event scheduled for December 27 and 28 at USA Race Park.  The track is a nice 3/8 mile facility located just south of the I-10 Freeway south of Tucson.  The details aren't on the track's website yet but I know that it's a 360 race (410s with gaskets).  Obviously it will be day time racing.  Not sure who is promoting the race but Keith Hall has been leasing the track this season.

Add one stud to Perris, minus one to Ventura. Also it is my understanding that Brady Bacon is supposed to be running the Moose Mobile 92 the next two weeks. But you know things can change quickly.

It looks like both races will have quality cars, so no matter where you go, it should be a great night. Looks like my tickets to the drag race fell through as triple a (AAA) ran out of tickets last week frown . I need some extra sleep anyway.

Anyone know what car Jesse Hocket is planning on running this week? Is it the Massey car or a local one?

Joanthan Henry has to be one of the favorites, along with COry, Kierce, etc etc. The pill draw draw and than the invert might play a big part in it too. However, I think the Ventura track will be much better for racing than was 1/3 tack at Manzy were no cars came from the back to transfer in the heats on Thursday, it was just plain brutal, I think Casey Shuman and even Jeremy SHerman didn't even transfer in the heats. And the format for the USAC National show on Friday was just plain idiotic, invert 8 and if you didn't transfer you started in the back of everyone in the main WTF, it screwed out Damion, Sweet, and Casey. I am hoping at Ventura, with the pill draw, it will work itself out like it does 90% of the time, and by the end of 30 laps, normally the fastest and badest guy ends up in victory lane. Unfortunately I'm not sure that happened in Manzy after I learned what happened on Friday night. But Kevin Swindell, Jessee, and Coons sure did look bad ass swamping the lead on the big 1/2 mile, they were probably the best cars, but it would of been interesting seeing Casey and Damion making it 5 guys swamping for the lead Smile. (But they all raced under the same rules, and the cream rose to the top as Kevin got the big Trophy with some scary moves).

We were in the stands between races and I kept thinking something Looked familiar.... And I couldnt recall what it was, since I have never been there before that race, One Local there told me the Grandstands were from ASCOTT... Can anyone back that up??? Tooo cool

Kevin, nice sales pitch. Anyway, back to my point. With the exception of the Grand Slam races, all cars usually must register their car with the VRA. I figured since USAC gives a two race grace period to everyone that VRA would drop that rule for this special end of year race. It does not matter to me since I am a member obiously, but what if an organization trying to draw drivers, and cars from all over Cali, and Ariz. told you that you must join the group you have not raced with all year for this race. I understand the rule, but it does not mean I agree. If people are wondering why I am weary of this, its because I was in Phoenix last week trying to pump up this race, and Tulare, and at Perris prior. We need to get VRA on the map as nobody knows who we are, and we need to change that. I hope this race helps.

Maybe add a few bucks to Kevin's estimate for replacing front and rear nerf bars after the show.
