It was announced last night at the Winged Outlaw Warriors (WOW) Banquet that the WOW Series is not over. Archie Simpson and George Schell did announce they were retiring, but the series would continue with a new promoter.

Archie said the new promoter would be named in a few weeks. He said the new promoter would be posting the date of the driver's/owner meeting on the web site. It's my understanding that some races for next year have already been scheduled.

Combs Named New W.O.W. Director

Sedalia, MO - November 22, 2008
By: Chad Buford

Randy Combs has been named the new director of the Winged Outlaw Warriors. The 360 sprint car sanctioning body will conduct a driver/owner meeting on Saturday, December 6th at 1:00 PM at 610 S. Hancock in Sedalia, MO. This meeting’s purpose is to seek input on improving sprint car racing.

In 2009, WOW will begin its tenth season of racing. The organization was founded by Archie Simpson of Columbia and began sanctioning races in 2000 in an effort to keep sprint car racing alive in mid-Missouri. Combs, the new director, is a former sprint car driver and has been active with WOW since its inception as a driver/owner and as an official.

Winged Outlaw Warriors new mailing address is 212 E. Moniteau St, Tipton, MO, 65081.

This is great news. Randy will do a good job. The WOW series always produces some great racing. The ASCS/WOW shows are some of the best races you'll find anywhere in the US. The WOW races in California, MO are the best races in the country that non one knows about. 24 cars flying around the XX Speedway in California, MO is crazy. Watching Jesse Hockett pass 20 cars every night at that place is amazing.

Hopefully, they'll be able to find a little more $$$ for the drivers. Those guys deserve it.
