This is copied from Tri-States web site:
Tri-State Speedway is known as the "Legendary Tri-State Speedway ... Where Future Stars Are Born!". We are a high banked, 3/8 mile, clay dirt track. We host racing in six regular classes each Saturday night from mid March to early November every year. This is one of the longest racing 'seasons' in this part of the country. In fact, Tri-State Speedway has been racing continuously for the past 36 years!Make sure you are a part of our '37th Consecutive Season of Racing Excitement in 2008!"Current and former, NASCAR drivers, Rusty Wallace and Mark Martin, have both won track championships at Tri-State Speedway! Other racing legends, such as Larry Phillips and Billy Moyer have also challenged the high banks of Tri-State Speedway, on a regular basis.
In addition to the weekly schedule, several special races, like Late Models and Sprint Cars, are held through out the year. Also special "event" races are held each year, like the 4th of July and Halloween race, which is called the Spooker.
The six classes of cars, that run on a weekly basis include Road Runner, Super Stock, Economy Modifieds, Modifieds, Mini-Stocks and Front Wheel Drives.

never been there. is it that hard a place to find? when i mapquested it - i think like last year - it looked pretty complicated. or maybe just moreso than most.
so what all classes are running? how many they reasonably expect in those classes? i think they will still get near 20 sprints. that would be around 2/3 the tulsa champ sprinters. take the ocrs ones plus a handful that would otherwise run creek......... i wouldnt be suprised if someone like Schnackenberg went out there (shawnee). maybe 1 or 2 that are anywhere east of the metro. weather looks like it will be nice...

Exit I-40 at the Van Buren/Ft Smith exit onto I-540 and it will take you right to it.After you past Choctaw casino, right at the state line.a couple miles on the right on top of the hill. You can get off on the Arkoma exit or keep going and turn at the bottom of the hill right below it.This ought to help if anyone is coming for the 1st time.

And it sits right on top of the hill, very beautiful scenery if you like that sort of stuff.
Oh and there are no 1/2 mile tracks in operation any longer in the state of Oklahoma.

Or you can turn at Sallisaw, from I-40 on south US 59 toward Poteau and at State Hwy 9 junction turn left, east, and it will take you right to it.or you can just come from Norman to Pocola on Hwy 9.

I seen some pictures a few years back from an ascs show there. and it just rained before it with sun setting in background. and yeah it did look as if it overlooked a basin or something. yeah it did look pretty cool.
isnt Ada the biggest operating track in the state now? 4/10ths?

Late model fan,
Your right on 4 rows...Apparently robertd has never been to a 1/2 mile track, like OKC's old track or Muskogee's fairgrounds...according to the sprint guys Saturday at Tri state they used the same gear they used at Enid or the now closed Tulsa speedway which is a 3/8 mile track.

We used a 6.18 gear on our car and was turning 82 on Tri-State. Same gear we run Outlaw and Enid.
