Night 2 of the 29th Annual Spooker
presented by A-Z Wholesale Warehouses from October 16th, 2008:
A race night in review.

Our 37th consecutive season continued on Thursday night, October 16th, 2008 at the legendary Tri-State Speedway, with racing in the Pure Stocks, Mini-Stocks, Front Wheel Drives, and Road Runners. The Thursday night?s racing actions began, after hot laps, at 7:10 PM. After surviving a threat of rain, for Tuesday night and Wednesday, the track was ready to race on for open practice on Night 1 at 6 PM.
Heat racing, in all four classes, was run without too many problems. A very brief intermission was held after the heat races so our two junior fans could get their pictures taken with their favorite drivers.
The ?B? features were up next. The Pure Stocks took the track for their ?B? feature first. After their race was complete, Shannon Howell (101 ? Huntsville, AR) would take home third place with Lonnie Flannigan (75 ? Rudy, AR) just ahead of him. The win would go to Brandon Barnett (85 ? Lowell, AR.)
The Mini-Stock ?B? feature saw Alvin Moran (16 ? Hackett, AR) take home the win with Andy Moran (6 ? Hackett, AR) in second. Third place would go to Danielle Pinkerton (5D ? Cedarville, AR.)
The Front Wheel Drives took the track next for their ?B? feature. Harold Hailey (42 ? Wister, OK) marked his return to TSS with a third place finish just behind Betty Bieker (29 ? Fort Smith, AR.) The win would go to Jesse Garner (2 ? Van Buren, AR.)
Intermission started at 9:25 PM, which gave us time to give away another 11 program lucky number prizes from Tri-State Speedway and Coca-Cola. If you haven?t done so yet, be sure to check out http://www.tri-statespeedway.com/ for complete race results (including the heats), upcoming events, and more!
At 9:45 PM, the ?A? features, for the night, got underway with the Pure Stocks. David Hagley (5 ? Batesville, AR) would finish in third, with Rick Edgerton (27 ? Fort Smith, AR) in second. James Gillean (6 ? Muskogee, OK) captured the win in dominating fashion. Gillean has now won three, of the last four, Spooker Pure Stock ?A? Features.
On deck next were the Mini-Stocks. Former multiple TSS track champion, Randy Norris (91 - Bonanza, AR) would take the win after surviving a three car battle for most of the race. Daniel Nicholson (44 ? Fort Smith, AR) would race to a second place result with Dalton Pulliam (69 ? Fort Smith, AR) in third.
Up next were the Front Wheel Drives. Brandon Morris (14 - Booneville, AR) would finish his feature in third, after leading much of the race, just behind Raymond Bieker (89 ? Greenwood, AR). Chris Akers (32 ? Barling, AR) would lead out of turn four, on the last lap, but would be disqualified for rough driving after running into a charging Brandon Gregory (91 ? Fort Smith, AR) who would garner the win.
Racing continues at TSS tonight, October 17th, with Night Three of the 29th Annual Spooker, presented by A-Z Wholesale Warehouses and continues through October 18th, featuring the 2008 Points Championship Races for the SMRS Late Models! Over $60,000 will be on the line, just in ?A? feature winnings during this event! Check out http://www.tri-statespeedway.com/ for more information on this event, and the upcoming 2nd Annual Fall Classic on November 1st, presented by Shamrock Bolt & Screw and GL OneSource, complete race results (including the heat races and lower features), photos from the past five years, and more!
Don?t forget, if you plan on attending the 2008 Awards Banquet, on November 22nd, you MUST purchase your tickets prior to November 2nd. No tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets are available for only $20 and can be purchased at the ticket office, any time the track is open through November 1st, or at Gerald?s Barber Shop, on Dodson Avenue in Fort Smith, AR, during normal business hours through November 1st. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AFTER NOVEMBER 1ST.

***END OF RELEASE***

Attached are the official results from this night of racing. Thanks for the continued support of dirt track racing in America. Watch for information coming Sunday on the 2nd Annual Fall Classic, featuring $3,000 to win Modifieds and the Oil Capital Racing Series Sprint Cars!

We attended your 29th Annual Spooker race Thursday night. It SUCKED! We go all over the state to race and watch races, and this so called race track is the most unfair and disrepectful track in the state, if not the whole United States! If you plan on racing at Tri-State, you had better be a local runner. We traveled 3 and 1/2 hours to race and have some family fun. This tracks local drivers and officials let us know (after we were in the pits and they had our money and we won our heat race), there would be a complete tear down and DQ of our car(which has been legal at all other tracks we have raced at!). It was a night of complete disappointed for all of our pit crew/ family/sponsors/ and friends that travel with us to attend races. We try and support all the tracks we attend and tell our fellow racing families about our experiences and how well other tracks are ran. So we are letting everyone know our experience at this so-called race track!

The owner/manager of the Tri-State Home-Boys track should be attending public relations classes. We tried talking to this guy nicely, and he was very rude. We were a group of 4 women. He told us to Shut-UP and was cursing in front of our children. I know he probably had a bad night, but to run a business as he is doing is not right. If we had been 4 Men- and had talked the way he did to us women, he would not of gotten up this morning.

Even your own spectators that attend your races regurally, said that our driver received a bad call! When your own people recognize what your officials are doing to your visiting racers it really should open your eyes.

I'm just advising all you racers planning to visit this track or race there, should go to another track cause this one is not worth your time or wasting your money!!
