I really liked the mention of the car owner's name for your qualifying times. It makes things just that much more interesting. Thanks Pete!

Brandon did a great job, he is a heck of a race car driver. Wasn't based simply on the math. This is why... Brandon was a lap down and made spots by simply finishing. He had problems and had to start in a back up car. All good for him.

Schmidt really did a great job. He was in the battle from the begining and was charging and passing cars which is what the award should be earned for, correct?

If it were based on numbers alone then yes...but it wasn't a positions gained award...it was a hard charger award.

That being said- Brandon could have earned a hard charger award in a dozen or more races this year.

Pete, I want to thank you for the compliment and I had a great time, I felt comfortable with just about every car I raced with and must have battled side by side with Justyne for at least a dozen laps, if not more (I think the picture on the home page of www.santamariaspeedway.com shows it all). The whole staff at Santa Maria Speedway put on a great show and the only way I could have had more fun is if I passed four more cars. I was very fortunate to have my family there to support me and I really appreciate any help or support I receive from sponsors, family, and friends. I also wanna give a huge thanks to Danny Faria and his crew for helping me "dial in" my car under red flags. Thank you everybody who helps make my my dreams happen.

That makes perfect sence. Brandon had motor problems in the 19, then got caught up in the lap 2 wreck and bent every rod on the car. We were lucky to finish. Great night of racing, I really enjoyed the entire show.

Hey Tyler, Since joining up with the Bandit Series, you all have done a great job, even coming within a whisker of a feature win!. You climbed into the top 10 in points. An awesome feat considering the competition.

I know that not everyone is always happy and satisfied with what goes on- but even though I get chewed on now and then thanks need to go out to all of the teams out there for making this one of the best and most satisfying seasons for me since taking on this job 5 years ago. But thank you specifically to you and your dad- as a family guy it was great to see the relationship you and your dad have and what you did with an army of two!

Looking forward to you guys moving forward next year. I know that you and your family made a lot of sacrifices to pull to and support events at Santa Maria, Kings, Bakersfield and Ventura all from Hollister (near San Jose). Your dad, mom and grand parents are great race fans as well as the number one Tyler Schmidt fans!

That is one of the things I love about this sport. What holds true for you is a commen thread in sprint car racing- it is a family deal which I will comment on further later on.

Were you there Jeremy? If that was you helping Brandon- you should have introduced yourself.

Brandon is a good kid and like my comments to Tyler, goes for Brandon- Granpa Fred and dad Jim are great people and a big part of what this deal is about. Brandon is not a cry baby nor is he a complainer- he is a racer who drives his heart out- does his deal and then heads on down the road! He is the same young man everytime I see him- grinning from ear to ear and strapping it on and putting on the best effort he can- first place or 10th place you know he put forth his best. He is not a stroker.

So as you can see is is one of my favorites...but then again I cannot name anyone who is not my favorite that is in a car... I love this deal and the people that race...

Edited results, scoring reversed Gansen and Eberhardt.  Was corrected, figured I'd do the same on-line.

Don Gansen made the long trip and his night ended too soon!  He was fast and we were happy to have him race with us.  They are nice people and we hope to see him and his team again.

Rick Eberhardt tows all the way from Livermore to where ever the bandito's are running.  He finished 9th in points. Not bad for a rookie...
