What will adding a RF shock bumper do for a wing sprint car?

If your car's not too tight and if your motor runs, you shouldn't need one.

Saw one on the RF of Jason Johnson's car and he is pretty 'quickity-quick' right now. Just curious as to what it does to the car.

Basically, it slows down weight transfer to the RF under braking, so it helps keep the LR loaded.

When the LR is loaded, it will help keep the car tighter, but as gdude says, you should not need one if the car is already tight(pushing)

Mostly driver preference, not a speed secret. One of the worst feelings for a driver in a sprint car is the feeling of driving over the right front. The bumper helps prevent that.

Just put a stiffer bar on the right front. A 1035 or 1050 will stop the un-easy dip some drivers don't like. In most cars a 1000 bar will keep the left rear hooked up, if the driver stays on the gas entering the corner.

If the RF is too soft for a stop and go track , youll pretty much shit your pants when you lift the LR on entry , its a earie feeling,

after a couple entries like that,(first change your shorts) youll try enter on the gas possibly ? ,or put on a shock bumper?,wind up the RF? , have the bar checked?, (or do what i do) put the heaviest bar on the rack in, seems to work for me ,when the driver gets uncomfortable in the settup your going nowhere ! just be glad you dont wreck something or someone else.

i have seen guys use a RF bumper when they use a softer bar in the RF to pop it up easier to get more drive off the corner. they set the bump so that the front only drops so far till it gets into the spring rate of the bumper then the wind in the softer bar pops up the RF off the corner. mostly when the tracks are a bit slick. have not seen it done much for a few years though.
