Gents from Australia/New Zealand
Could someone explain to us Americans all the typical sanctioning series and typical track schedules for the area. I red about the WSS, is that an organizaiton like WoO & All Stars or ASCS?
I'd like to keep "up" on the racing over our winter and following what's being reported here on Hoseheads.
Thanks

I'll start,although I'm an American
World Series Sprintcars would be similar to the World of Outlaws. They travel from coast to coast.
Sprintcar Racing Association of Victoria (SRA) would be similar to the All Stars -they race mostly in the State of Victoria which is larger than most of our states.
Parramatta City Raceway would be similar to Williams Grove lets say, cause its the mainstay in the State of New South Wales.
Allstars would be similar to ASCS,360s although they havent approved the ASCS heads yet. Fairly new group for 360 racing.
The Grand Annual Classic is Australia's version of the Knoxville Nationals. Held every January at Premier Speedway,Sungold Stadium, Warrnambool Australia.
I'll let someone else tell you about the Sprintcar Title, the other States, etc etc etc.

Andrew is pretty close to the mark.World Series Sprintcars travels across the nation with a group of drivers similar to the Outlaws but much smaller.Usually starts in November and finishes in January.SRA is the Victorian states series and only runs in that State.Usually runs at bush tracks and could not be compared to your travelling series.Parramatta is the Sydney track located about 2 kilometers (mile and a bit) from the geographical centre of Sydney. Will run about 20 shows this season plus the club will also run a 6 round series in the bush.Brooke Tatnell and Kerry Madsen are products of this track which has produced 90% of Australian Champions through the years.
Queensland also has a strong group who run at Archerfield Speedway plus a number of shows at country tracks.Western Australia also runs a strong 410 contingent who mainly race at the Kwinnana Motorplex which is the fastest major track in Australia while South Australia runs 410's and 360's at Speedway City and Murray Bridge speedways. The Northern Territory also runs a small but strong contingent of 410's but due to the heat up there they race during our winter when a number of guys from Sydney and Western Australia travel up to get some racing while the Southern tracks are closed.
Get down here one day you will have a ball and plenty of Outlaws run Parramatta as well.

thanks all
I'd love to "get down" there some day, it's not in the budget these days.
I really don't want to come see the American follow-the-leader outlaws. I live 20 miles from Eldora and skip half their races there as they are BORING. Some of the smaller tracks, thou hours from home vs. 30 minutes offer much better racing for weekly shows. Sometimes the stocks and mods are a better show at Eldora then the sprints, at least I get to see multiple passes per race.

Digs one of the good things about Oz is our tracks on the East coast are 1/4 mile.Result is close hard racing and when Kinser,Schats and company get on these type of deals they are something to see.Yank v Aussie makes for good stuff with a beer and a barby after the racing what more could you ask for.
