It’s a New Day in Arkansas Late Model Racing

by Wayne Harris

American Racer tires are designed for the American Racer by the American Racer, and Day Motor Sports is breaking ground into Arkansas late model racing with American Racer tires and supporting the AMP Series point fund.

The AMP Series is pleased to announce the signing of Day Motor Sports as the title sponsor for the AMP Series. Day Motor Sports is a mail order/wholesale company of aftermarket motorsports related products located in Tyler, TX. Day Motor Sports will also provide the AMP spec American Racer tire for AMP competition with the American Racer MD56 BT late model tire. Day Motor Sports is thrilled at the opportunity to bring the American Racer late model tire into competition in Arkansas. Wayne Harris of Day Motor Sports said, “In the Southwest region we have been anxious to get involved with a late model series, and the AMP Series is definitely going to fill a void in this area. The series is going to give the local racers a chance to venture out and travel to some new tracks while providing an affordable avenue to gain this experience.”

The American Racer late model tires have become the tire of choice in many areas of the country over the past few seasons, as American Racer claimed numerous wins in several of the premier traveling series events in 2006. “The American Racer MD56 has been extremely successful in the Southeast region of the country and parts of Louisiana. We look forward to the AMP competitors gaining the experience with the American Racers, as the product has been proven, and will repeat through several heat cycles without falling off in performance”, said Harris.

The series currently has races scheduled throughout Arkansas with plans on venturing into other areas of the region in the next few years. Harris also stated that, “2007 is going to be the beginning of something desperately needed in Arkansas. The AMP Series is going to be a big hit in this region and Day Motor Sports and American Racer are thrilled to be on board for the maiden voyage and many years to come.”

The Day Motor Sports AMP Series presented by American Racer will kick off the inaugural season on March 10th at Crawford County Speedway with 12 additional races scheduled to date. For more information log on to the series’ official website www.ampseries.com.
