Jerrod is doing well, I talked to him yesterday morning. He is a little sore but he is doing just fine.

This is Jerrod's brother Christopher and he is doing okay he has some small burns on both legs. But most of his pain is in his knee from where he jerked it out of the nerf bar. I was there the night it happened and was with my brother until he left the hospital.

kind of makes you wonder if anyone will ever come up with a way to keep the nerf bars from coming into the cockpit and piercing your leg, etc. I gather that is what happened. That has been a problem for a long, long time.

Carol14, I believe what I read is that Jerrod had a fire and when he bailed out while the car was coasting, that is when his leg got tangled in the nerf bar that was not broken.
Hopefully Christopher will get back here and confirm what happened.

The car sustained no damage. He was not in any kind of crash. Just developed a fuel leak from somewhere that caught fire. That was the way it was explained to me by Scott (crew cheif).

This is Christopher again.....When Jerrod was getting out of the car his right leg just got hung up in the nerf bar and then the car ran over Jerrod and that's when he said he jerked his leg out and heard the pop in his right knee. I talked to my brother yesterday and he's still in a lot of pain, but it's only his knee that bother's him. Nicole told me that his right leg is swolen from his knee down to his toe's. He goes to the doctor tommrow and I'll post back with an update on what they tell us.

Glad to hear that he's doing ok! I was at the track Sat. night and myself and the Pumpman stopped and said hey to Jerrod before the heats. First time I'd seen him face to face in a while. Then this thing happened! Get well Jerrod!

Christopher:
Sorry to hear that Jerrod will need surgery. I had heard from one person at the race that his knee was dislocated. If that was true it would explain all of the tears. Wish him well and hope all goes well.
