Joey cannot BUY any good luck this season. NOBODY ever breaks a throttle linkage! But they broke a throttle linkage! Joey and the crew have had much more bad luck this year than they deserve. How many more fluke breakages can they endure???

If my memory serves me correctly ... Tim Kaeding in the Rolfe 10 lost the WoO race at Volusia in Feb. of this year when the throttle linkage on a BRAND new engine broke on a late race re-start with him easily covering the field.

I would not say it never happens but you have to admit it is a rare occurence. Joey has had very bad luck this year. Everybody gets pushed or crashed, has a tire go down, a motor blow, but Joey has had all of these way more than anyone else. Hard to say if car maintenance has anything to do with it since only his crew knows those answers. He is definitely a top contender on any given night but has lost more than his share of races by dumb luck this year.

Mark Dobmeier broke a throttle linkage at Grand Forks this year with the Outlaws. Remember he started 5th or somewhere around there and was coming toward the front.

Not all that uncommon, the linkage on some (majority )cars is a 10-32 thread , hook that to your foot and its pretty easy to destroy if you really get after it , I personally, drill all my linkage to a 1/4" thread , I believe Dob's trouble was on the butterfly shaft linkage itself? (possible unbalanced throttle) I could be wrong? If your around the sport long enuff youll see it happen from time to time , good thing was he (Joey)didnt get piled up.
So, anybody Know why they dont run Titanium, aircraft pieces or maybe they do?

It's his year for the gremlins. Every driver has such years.
Remember Kinser's last season??
