Since no one else posted, Chico's night 2 qualifying has been cancelled and Saturday sounds like they'll redraw the entire field. If anyone knows for sure, please post what Saturday's format will be.

Friday Night Racing Canceled

by: Troy Hennig

(Chico, CA 10-3-08)...The only winner at night number two of the Fall Nationals in Chico was Mother Nature. A persistent rain moved into the area early Friday morning and with no breaks in sight John Padjen Motorsports have canceled the night's racing action.

On a positive note, the whole weekend will not be washed away. With hopes of the storm system moving out early Saturday morning, JPM will post a new format for Saturday night. On Saturday night every driver will get the chance to race. Points from Thursday nights racing will be discounted. It will be a pill draw show, no qualifying. Passing points and finishing points will be added up for each driver after the heat races have finished. After heat races are concluded, the top 20 in points will be locked into the feature event. All other drivers will be placed in main events starting with the B main event and on back. Drivers will be placed in each main in accordance with their points from heat races. Four drivers will transfer from the B main into the A feature. Twenty-four cars, 40-laps, $6,000 to win one night only shoot-out. Front grandstand gate will open at 5 pm. Racing is slated to start at 6:30 pm.

Keep updated Saturday at www.johnpadjenmotorsports.com for any late breaking news.

I hear it's still raining up there. Pits will be a mess if it doesn't stop soon.
