Victoryville..... In racing and in life you sometimes bump up against winning in the most unexpected places. The smart money was probably down in Perris where the Cowboy again showed them how the West was won. Maybe you were in Ventura hanging out with motorcycle heroes like Kenny Roberts. I figured Murphy was killing up in Hanford. But a few of us floated out to the high desert for a little “run what you brung”. Right on the doorstep of Victorville Auto Raceway runs the Historic Route 66. That busted up symbol of America still means something to me. It seems romantic and promising somehow, like when this was still the land of plenty. I figure hope runs both east and west. Whatever, that psychic highway dumped a heap of mojo racers on our heads this Saturday night. As the sun faded away and summer waved goodbye, I watched a punk driver slam that track, bark at the future and yet pay respect to all that came before..... Continue story

I think this may be the best article I have read so far that was written by you. I'm still smiling at "He looked worse than a regional bank president.". Current and cogent sarcasm well delivered. An upbeat and pleasant article start to finish. Good writing, very entertaining. Keep bringing em.
Congratulations to Brandon Thompson. And................
Best wishes for a speedy and full physical, spiritual and material recovery for Robert Ellis.
Hail Victoryville. Long live Route 66.

PS: If you haven't seen "Cars" yet, rent it and watch it. It most definitely has an allusion to Route 66 in it and is a great movie for adults as well as kids. It has exceptional animation, and............. This movie carries a similar spirit to this Surfnsprint article.
Long live Route 66.

Just how old is young Brandon Thomson or is it Thompson (I have seen it spelled both ways)? He is making some noise and here's hoping that he gets that 410 for the Oval Nationals. I second Mike Brown, that is a very good piece of sports commentary Surfnsprint. Wow!

Surfnsprint; That was amazing! You out did yourself again. Your articles are always a pleasure to read. Tying Victorville in with old Route 66 was wonderful. Looking forward to your next piece of work.
Again, congradulations to Brandon Thomson and his whole crew for a much deserved win! Good luck with a 410 Oval Nationals ride.
