Extra Cash and Contingencies at Friday's Herb Barlow Memorial in Jacksonville!

(Bill W) A good paying event for the drivers just got better with the addition of cash and contingencies for this Friday night's Herb Barlow Memorial at the Morgan County Speedway. Herb Barlow's niece Caroline has teamed up with several contingency sponsors to make it a night to remember for the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders, POWRi midgets and the mini-sprints!

Several sprint car hotshoes from around the Midwest have expressed their interest in joining the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders for Friday's race including 2007 Knoxville Raceway track champion Brian Brown.

Among the extra cash and contingency awards are:

  • $100 bonus to each sprint & midget heat winners
  • $50 bonus to each mini sprint heat winners
  • $100 bonus to dash winner in sprints plus

1st in dash gets new left rear Hoosier tire

2nd in dash gets a case of racing oil

3rd in dash gets Eagle Chassis coat

  • All Feature winners will get a plaque, Carhartt coat and a hat & t-shirt from Maxim Chassis

Racing at the Morgan County Speedway will get underway Friday with hot laps at 6:00 with racing to follow! Pits will open at 4 p.m. and grandstands at 5 p.m. Grandstand seating is $20 for adults, with seniors $18 and children 6-12 $5. Children 5 and under are free! I had an email conversation with Carolyn Shuh.(Herb niece). What a great group of people. True fans of racing. I'm sure Herb would be very proud. It is shaping up to be a great race for the fans and the race teams. Last big show of the season at J-ville this year. I'm sure the track is going to be very racy. It was in great shape at the non wing show. Bill West save me a tenderloin! They sold out before I got one last time.

If they are handing out cash for the first fan in the parking lot with Indiana tags on it,I'll leave right now!
