Jackson Speedway is gearing up for the last race of the year this Saturday.Hot Laps are at with racing to follow.Admission price for the grandstands is $15 for adults and $6 for students 6-12, 5 and under are Free.
Sioux Falls native Greg Bakker has all but wrapped up the inaugural JSTS championship, but looks to improve on his 8th place finish last weekend. That won’t be so easy, as most of the cars on hand last week are expected to back, and the following cars are expected to join in the fight for the $1,200 top prize:2008 Jackson Speedway Point Champion Gordy Vogelaar along with teammate Shawn Van Whye, 2008 Husets Speedway Champion Jody Rosenboom, ACSC Midwest Series Champion Jack Dover.
Joining the JSTS will be the A Mods ($700 to Win), Stock Cars ($500 to Win), Open 305 Sprints ($500 to Win), B Mods and Hobby Stocks ($350 to Win) Hornets ($200 to win).
Rules:
The JSTS will be our Basic rule package and mufflers will be required.SC-25 (or the ASCS tire or SP-2 or 3) on the RR and the LR is the RC-1, D-12 or D-15.
The A Mod rules will be basic IMCA rules but since the race is not sanctioned we will allow the American Racer tires and rear mounted pumps.
The Stock Cars also are not sanctioned and will allow URSA cars to run, with the exception that a 350 Holley is Mandatory (so the same thing we did at Worthington).
The open 305’s will follow the Midwest 305 rules.
B Mods will be basic 9-1, 360, 2 link.
Hobby Stocks we will allow the bee hive springs.
Hornets rules are basic four Cylinder rules similar to Fairmont’s rules.

Update on Jeremy Smith:
A lot of people have been inquiring about how Jeremy Smith is doing after the horrific wreck he had last Saturday Night.I talked to him again this morning. He got out of the hospital yesterday (Monday) but has to go back in for surgery to repair his cheek bone on Thursday. His cheek bone was broken in several places, but other than this he was doing all right.
Sounds like this could be a good show this Saturday evening. I read on another message board that Lou Kennedy Jr and his son will be racing at Jackson this Saturday. Plus both the Van Whye cars back in action and Jr. Jr. in the 1W.

Since the race in Aberdeen is cancelled - will any of the cars that they were expecting come to Jackson. I'm excited that Jack Dover is expecting to come - awesome racer!!!
So assuming Dover Can't make it we will still have quite a number of 2008 Champions on hand.
Curt Lund 2008 Redwood Speedway Champion Wade Nygaard the 2008 River Cities Speedway Champion Lou Kennedy the 2008 Overall NOSA Point Champion Gordy Vogelaar the 2008 Jackson Speedway Champion Lee Grosz the 2008 ASCS Northern Plain Champion Ryan Bickett the 2008 I-90 Season Champion Jody Rosenboom the 2008 Huset Speedway Champion
As far as the 2008 JSTS Inaugural Championship goes???
Gregg Bakker currently has a 20 point lead, but last weekend showed signs that he is not quite the invincible threat he had been earlier in the season at the Jackson Speedway. So anything can happen.....
Not sure which way Scott Winters will go, but if he comes to Jackson he has a shot at the Inaugural JSTS title as well. The 23w is always one of the cars to watch.
Casey Heser has used a bunch of solid top ten finishes to work his way into 3rd place in the JSTS point standings. Wouldn't this be a great first win at the Jackson Speedway for the Jackson Native, by beating EIGHT 2008 Champions!
Billy "Buckel up" Boles had not had a season up to the 05 teams Standards, and you can bet he will be looking to get the 05 into victory lane. Currently sitting 4 in JSTS points, the hot rumor around Jackson is that Billy needs money bad, as his wife Shelly is itching to get a hornet for the 2009 season. $1,200 might buy two hornets.
Weather looks good and I can't wait to get one more race in at the Super Speedway!
What are we going to do all winter after this Weekend!!!!

This post only mentions the 360 Sprint Car Champions that will likely be competing. The other divisions will boast many current and former champions as well.
We also have had quite a few calls from Arlington Cars that are looking to come and race as we have one of the only tracks still running in the Area.
Also for those of you that have not checked it out, here is a link to the NMRA Board as well: www.nmra.proboards80.com

Dover will not be here now according to his website.
I just checked my email and Lori informed me that they would be headed to Illinois and Burlington, Iowa for a sprint invader show. They really are disappointed but with Aberdeen cancelling - it put a stop to have hopefully run a two day show up this way. But I'm sure that they still will be a good count and hopefully the weather will be great.
