velocity speed report

9/27/2008 placerville

myles bishop and the chuck cypert lead crew headed to placerville speedway for the final race of the 2008 civil war championship trying to close a 48 point gap for rookie of the year and a top 5 finish in points.

the pristine cv fabricators/maclac paints/mtl manufacturing, stud welding products, kaeding performance center, charlie fisher engines, maxim chassis sprinter rolled out ready to make a charge begining with all important qualifying.

myles would be 17th car out of 30 to qualify and what was a very hooked up and fast track, myles would turn a time of 10.398 setting myles 3rd fast.

heat races would be next and are very crutial because the first 4 cars go directly to the A-main,with the rest of the cars going to either the b or c main according to qualifying times.

myles started 6th by virtue of his 3rd quick time and would have to hustle to get into the top 4 on what now was a very fast and narrow racing groove, myles dueled with allisa geving for the 4th spot for many laps before pulling off a text book slide job to drive away and finish 4th in the 3rd heat.

the main event proved to be tricky for the chuck cypert lead crew as the track was different than normal due to promoter alan padjen working to make the track stay wet and hooked up rather than dry and dusty.

myles started the main event 5th and dueled for many laps with the top 5 cars all running at a very fast pace with lap times in the 11 second range during the main event, with laps running down myles caught and passed 3rd running scott kinney and began tracking down 2nd running herman klien only to run out of laps and run in a very hard fought 3rd position.

thank you to our sponsors and the fans for all the support.
