MIDGETS NOW PREPARE FOR LAS VEGAS NOVEMBER 1; MARGESON TOPS ALTAMONT 30-LAPPER
SEPTEMBER 29, 2008--- Nic Faas of Huntington Beach, Calif. takes a comfortable 143-point lead into the next USAC Western Midget race, scheduled for November 1 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring in Nevada.
Faas finished fourth in Saturday's 30-lapper at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, Calif. won by Washington driver Evan Margeson.
Margeson, of Tacoma, Wash., passed Chad Nichols on lap 13 and led the final 18 laps to win at Altamont. Scott Pierovich finished second ahead of Paul Zimmerly, Faas and Robby Josett. Margeson was also the fastest qualifier but trailed Nichols for the first 12 laps before putting his Mac Towing/Montana Waste Systems Beast/Esslinger Ford into the lead.
The November 1 race will be USAC's first for Western Midgets at the Bullring since Rory Price's victory in 2004.
