The leaders would race in this order for the first half the race with Lund right on Winters tail just looking to advance into second. On lap ten the yellow came out when Danny Heskin, St. Michael MN, broke coming out of two and came to a stop. On the restart Nygaard, would maintain the lead but Winters would loose the second spot to Lund. On the next lap Lund would move into the lead putting Nygaard back to second. Nygaard would run the top side of the speedway looking to get back around Lund but could not. With three laps to go the races last caution came out setting up a three lap dash. On the restart, Nygaard would attempt to move into the lead but was unable to make the pass around Curt Lund who went on to take the win. Wade Nygaard had to settle for second followed by Scott Winters, Mark Toews, Spirit Lake IA, and Lee Grosz, Harwood ND. The heat races were won by Scott Winters, Wade Nygaard, and Brandon Geldner, Mankato MN.

The 12-lap 305 Sprint Car feature race went green-white-checkered. It was Bruce Anderson, Trimont MN, getting the early lead with Ryan Voss getting the second spot and Nate Eakin, Milford IA, the third spot. On the restart, Alhers kept the field behind, but coming up through the field was Kevin Sather. Sather would move into the third spot, on the restart on lap seven. As the race approached the two-thirds mark, Sather challenged Alhers for the lead and on lap eleven moved into the number one spot. With just two laps to go in the race, Austin Lucas, Sioux City IA, moved into the second spot getting by Alhers. When the checkered flag flew it was Kevin Sather taking the win followed by Austin Lucas, Dan Alhers, Dan Hanselman, Algona IA, and Dan Paplow, Dundee MN. Opheim would race side by side with Masters challenging for the lead for the next two laps when Opheim finally made the pass for the lead coming out of turn two. Opheim would then start to pull away from the field as Master raced in second and Schroeder in third. The leaders raced in that order until lap fourteen when the caution came out for debris. On the restart Opheim maintained the number one spot, but Elijah Zevenbergen, Ocheydan IA, would move into the third spot. Kevin Opheim would lead the remaining laps and go on to pick up the win. From the NMRA board, hopefully this is facts:

Last night at Jackson Speedway- Jeremy Smith crashed into the turn 3 wall head-on. Cause might have been mechanical failure. Was taken to Jackson Hospital then transferred to Sioux Falls, MRI and CT scans taken with everything OK, except a severely broken cheek bone. Jeremy has to wait until swelling goes down before he can have reconstruction surgury. Could be home as soon as today Sunday 9/28. He is very lucky with just injury, very lucky, with hitting wall at top speed. We hope for quick recovery.
