I know this event has been a "run anything and everything" program for some time now. The sprint cars have been reasonably new to this deal. Although sprint car associations are done by this date, I wouldn't expect to many cars to show up for a payoff of $100 from 10th on back. Especially for two days worth of pit passes and other expenses (entry fees and such).

As for 'sprint car' fans, I think running 7 other classes will keep most of them at at home also. Except Turn4Rob, he is surely jumping at the bit to watch all those classes wink. I passed on an event here last night cause the promoter elected to run 5 other classes. I trust you will have success with all those full bodied classes as in years past. Good luck on your program.

I agree with your concerns, but theres time maybe we could steamline this to make it worth your time coming.Perhaps if a bunch of people E-mailed the track asking them to set a specific time for the sprints ,say 6 o'clock sat for the qualifying races ,and running the main starting at 6 o'clock sunday ,I like watching the mod's and latemodels also but I can understand waiting for your program on a hard bench might take the fun out of it....as far as the start money goes ..any company or individual who could kick in,I'm sure that would help with the car count. When they started the Sprint Car program there, we ask the promoter to run us first main,he agreeded...so maybe a little lobbying would help with your concerns...I'd like to see at least 30 sprint cars..could be an exciting show!

But Dan, a sprint car team is being asked for an $85 entry fee and 2 days of pit passes (even if you show up Sunday only) for $100 for 10th! I think a count of 30 might be a stretch at those numbers.

I think it is Really, Really retarded to not go because of the "Other" divisions. Victorville has always been a stock car track and I really hope that Victorville does nothing to affect them. I do understand the rest of your argument though. Maybe some event sponsors can help. just a thought.

I made the mistake of going to this thing last year. What a joke and a waste of time, never again!

If you look at the USAC/CRA schedule you will see that there is a race on Nov.29th.I believe it is the "Glen Howard Memorial".

Dan no need to lobby, the sprints will run first on both days. Saturday the heats will kick off between 11am & 1pm. Sunday is a little harder to estimate but if there is a semi for the sprints it will be first around the same time as Sat and they will be the first A-Main as well. If a person only wanted to view the main only I would guess if you got there around 5pm you would not have to wait very long for the A-Main. Thanks Mike

Ditto GRUNK! Mike and Dena, you guys are great, thank you for all you do for us the racers. We really enjoy racing at your track! The track is great, and so are all the people that work and volunteer there!!

I'm putting up the extra $100.00 for the highest finishing 360 again this saturday night! All you Ventura guys, come over to the high desert and race with us on a great little track. Lets have some fun.

Anybody else out there that wants to donate to the fund, would be very much appriciated! Contact me on this thread, or just donate to Mike at the track!

Thank you for your support!lol

With absolutely nothing going on November 22nd, its a shame this race couldnt have been scheduled for that weekend. Maybe there is already something going on at the VV fairgrounds that weekend? Just seems like it would have been better for everyone.

Hay guys thanks for the kind comments. We have worked hard all year long and will continue to do so, and try to make the show better every night. The big thanks needs to go to all the teams & fans that continue to come to every race, without you guys there would be no show. Also would like to say thanks again to Racing Optics for helping with the purchase of the new clay. Ziggy thanks for the extra hundred for the VRA guys. By the way we have run the Sat of thanksgiving weekend for 8 years now although last year was the first year for the sprints. Maybe Perris didn't think we would do it again this year. Thanks Mike.

YOU KNOW... IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND, YOU WOULD PROBABLY GET A PRETTY BIG SPRINT CAR COUNT ON SUNDAY.. I WOULD BE THERE, BUT I'M NOT GONNA PAY THAT MUCH FOR ONE DAY, AND I'M SURE A LOT OF CRA GUYS WOULD FEEL THE SAME! WHAT UP GRUNK!

BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS!....OH YEAH..AND EMPTY POCKETS.
GOD I LOVE RACING!

Now we got something to work with......It only takes a driver and one crewmember to run a car,2 people x $30 pit pass=$60 ...get 10 cra guys to sign on to come Sun. and if I can't get the promoter to waive the first day of pit passes ,I'll pay them myself..If we work out the bugs ,we could have a heck of a car count and wild main event........I'll leave my info with 'Grunk' this weekend .let's get this done.theres sufficient time to work things out
