There will be open wheel action at Santa Maria Speedway this Saturday with NMRA TQ Midgets having there final dirt race the season before moving on to the pavement @ Orange Show Speedway next month.

The Bandit Sprint cars are running so there will be some great Sprint car action also at the 1/3 mile clay oval in Santa Maria.

The people at Santa Maria Speedway prepared an awesome track for the September 20th events, fast & smooth all night.

The NMRA TQ Midgets put on 2 great heats & a fast green to checkers 25 lap main event for the fans at SMS. The 2 rookies in the field, Jimmy Dodson & Anthony Lopiccolo had great runs, winning the heat races & finishing 3rd & 4th in the feature. West Evans #36 ran well finishing 2nd & Kenny Wiley won the main starting from the 6th position.

Alot of action on the track with the the Bandit Sprint Cars and the feature win went to Richard Vanderweerd after passing Jason May with 3 laps to go. May was followed by Peter Murphy to the podium in 3rd as Murphy clinched the 2008 Bandit Sprint Car Championship.
