After many phone calls it has been decided to allow roller cams for this event. I f you so choose to do so your weight will be a minimum of 1550 with driver at the end of the race, if you have a flat tappet it will be 1475. And also remember there is no port work allowed on cylinder heads. UNTOUCHED MEANS UNTOUCHED !!! meaning no port work of any kind on intake or exhaust ports !!! Thanks and hope to see you all there.

Untouched means untouched? Does that mean they can't be decked? If they can be decked how much can be taken off?

Burlington based there rules of the mid american rules to get some cars there , It never helped . I never seen rollers in the mid america rules. Bring on the rollers tony paris . Does this mean we can run our little 302. It pumps 305. Let us know so I can get it pulled out of my grandmothers camaro .this week .

No, it must be a 305 block, second this has nothing to do with tony paris, 3rd we have ran down there when it fit our schedule as did a few of the 34 guys came up and ran with us and i thank them for that, 4th this is something that terry and myself made a decision on this morning after getting calls from other racers wanting to come and race i commend them for being honest and admitting they had roller cams and agreeing to the extra 75#'s they must weigh,

Thanks Chris, i was just wondering,
I for one think it is a bad deal for racers to race by 1 set of rules all yr (tech or not) and when the better paying races come around the rules get opened up.
I wonder what other rules will be used by race time.

I made a call and the 16hd car weighs 1600 pounds give or take 20 pounds every Saturday night so how is that new weight rule going to help anyone with a flat tappet cam. I work on a 360 car covered in tie stuff and we can't get it to 1475. We have tried.

Are you guys owners or drivers or crew members??? The drivers and owners that have called have been ok with this , and remember this is a short track that wont require a lot of power , the power advantage is very small anyway, we ran against them with our car earlier this year at knoxville and ran well against them, so quit your bitchin and stand on the gas!!! If you are a car owner or driver give me a call , most of the cars at 34 are fast as hell anyways you shouldn't be a bit worried.

Hey if people are running roller cams and have to carry the extra 75 pounds so be it, I think that's fair. OR could it be that some people are afraid of some extra competition???
BTW, you can run roller cams at Knoxville!!

Short track! Lee county is one of the fastest 3/8 miles in the mid west. If the cars are so equal why would you give this so called weight advantage to the flat tappet group? I'm not saying a flat tappet engine can't win. But why would you allow cars to run with you that are illegal at every venue within 3 hours of Lee county.

Right out of Knoxvilles rules.8. Cam/Tappets: Flat-tappet cam, stock-diameter tappets (no rollers, mushroom, radius type tappets)

I thought this was a mid america sponsored race, I thought they had a set of rules. Lets just say a roller wins . Then what , I would not think that terry would want anything to do with this change.He already run the sprint invaders off . This is a bad call by a track promotor. sorry.
