1st off I want to sat Thanks to Rick , Trish , Debbie R , Charles & all the people at WSS for giving us the opportunity to race Sat night..
Yes there was not the car count WE had hoped for BUT the racing was still great..Several people stopped me after the heat races to say the 2 Mini/fwd heats were fun & very competitive to watch...Some of the best racing thay had seen in the heats..None of the Tulsa area , Springfield area or Little Rock area cars who called me or e-mailed me personally saying they were definately coming were there...
We did it differently then a typical race..After the heats we had the drivers draw cards to see who was in the Dash for Cash...It was a blind draw with only 6 predetermined cards getting to run the Dash..I would like to Thank Jeff Harris (harris203) of Cassville Auto Body in Cassville,MO for putting up the $100 for the Dash for Cash & Mike Hull for the Trophies. The Features were set with the top 4 in each heat redrawing Cards for their starting spot in the feature..The 20 lap feature was ran in 14 minutes with 3 flags , 1 for a rollover in the opening lap. The #55 FWD of Jason Eubanks was able to roll the car back over & refire it to stilll race...There was some good competitive racing thru out the field.
As for the comments about the Mini's /fwd's being boring or no fun to watch , or "as I was told in a PM on here" they are not real racecars...I say BS...Don't knock them til you try them...Even Eddie Martin has driven a Mini & loved it. You don't bvelieve me ask him...Ask Pual Colvin jr..what was the most fun he has ever had in a racecar & he will tell you it was in a Pro-4 at TVS...Ask Cary Price which was funner racing the Mini or the ratrace in a big car...(Not bashing the big cars..)...Ask Rex McCroskey which he perfers to run.....
Last week I received several e-mails & PM's asking why I was doing it for the Mini's / fwd's I told them I wanted to give back to the guys who hardly ever got any recognation or Specials for them..
I have been racing Mini's & pro-4's since I got involved in racing cars in 1992...I have stayewd with the 4 cyl's for the reason I really enjoy the class & the guys who race it..That is another reason why I did it..
Also an A-Mod guy stopped me Sat night in the pits to say Why did you do it for the Mini's & not the A-Mods...I told him they always have extra money races all over..
Was also told that some of the E-mod drivers were pissed because they were dropped for the night in place of the Mini's/fwd's...I say to that: If you would not have a crashfest & get over in a timely manner they might not have been dropped.
Also I want to Thank Willie & Bill Gammill For putting up the Additional Money , on top of the purse posted....Jeff Harris for the Dash for Cash Money, Mike Hull for the trophies, Stan Lewis (#000 MS) for helping me out putting it on & Charles Crawford for all the help he provided...
The 13 driver who showed up raced for a total of $1280...With each getting at least $50 for the night including extra monies paid...
Furthermore....I want to appoligize to the people who I did not get to talk to & to the ones I did ...Thanks it was great seeing you again...
Looking forward to doing it again..Hopefully next time there will be more cars..
